Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 802

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

EOmom, my son said the same thing about PIR. I wouldnt of missed it and he sure was happy to see us. Is it possible the form letter went to a different address?

EOMom, You do need to be on the guest list that your son completes. Make sure you let him know you are coming.

He got to phone today, so I told him we were coming and he said he will get the list turned in.  Thank you for the advice.  They got the privilege of going to the PX today, and they enjoyed that.  One of his division mates is a cousin of our older son's friend.  It is a small world!

crap. Just missed a phone call from our son! Phone was in my purse on 'vibrate'. What was I thinkinkg?????????? First phone call in 5 weeks and I missed it! Fortunately he has talked to his girlfriend so I can get the scoop from her. But I am still sick...

No phone call for us today.  What the heck?!  We're really looking forward to seeing the other SR's that ours is getting to know.  My husband is still in touch with guys he met in basic training in the Army a thousand years ago.  Hope you feel better.

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Got a letter today.  Still can't believe how different he sounds already.  No doubt he looking forward to PIR.  Does anyone know if they have wifi at pre BUD/s?  Thinking about a tablet . . .

My SR asked for his computer too, so I am assuming yes they have wifi. I was also thinking about a new tablet for a Christmas gift for him. I have another question too - he said he might be getting a medal, how would I find this out before PIR or do I just have to wait?

They will not have wifi in the rooms. Although they can get service in the TV room. The windows seem to be the hotspot. My son would say he has to go because a spot opened to get onto his laptop lol

We got a great letter this week that talked a lot about many of your amazing sons. I laughed so hard about one I had to stop reading! I love the banter and the close friendships that are forming. As always this is a great group of men and their friendships are what will carry them through BUD/s. My other son's closest friends are still those that were in his BUD/s class, although they are now all split up all over the country. Hang in there ladies! Less than two weeks to go. Then we'll all get a little respite until San Diego. I'm still not ready for the next round. It's almost like childbirth - you don't remember how hard it's going to be until you get in the throws of it again!

If you could give us advice as Mom's trying to encourage our son's and keeping our sanity, what would you say about this next stage coming up? Also I wonder if it was my son doing goofy things. He was kind of known on his football team and wrestling teams for doing things (not on purpose) that make the highlights reel at the end of the year.

I only got last names. Instant message me and I'll tell you if he was one of those that my son talked about. My advice about the next phase would be to PRAY! But if that's not your thing I would say that the pre-BUD/s phase in Great Lakes is pretty good for them - they get to work out a lot and are treated by the instructors well. Apparently it's like night and day compared to the lack of freedom in
bootcamp. It's sort of like the calm before the storm! But I do remember one incident where a master chief came to visit and was walking on all their backs while they were in push-up position and saying 'you're a c---, you're a c---, you're a c---! It was so outrageous it was kind of funny in a twisted way! Am I saying too much???
