Welcome to the Division Discussion for division 806.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

I'll try not to over analyze. Our son has always been a good kid so I'm trying not to worry.

@ K's Mom  what style did you get and what did you have engraved on their challenge coin....I know I saw samples with the ship and div #'s as well as the ship name, but I didn't see those styles when I went to the mint site.  Thanks for your help!

N

Hi NSWC! The coin I ordered was not a challenge coin but it was a Ship Coin. Craig designs them and you can order it through ebay....search pirgifts.com :) You can get one specific to your SR's Div & Ship Name.

Got three letters today!!!!!!!  One of my daughters got one also.  He's says things have been rough, a lot of yelling and PT, but things are settling down a bit.  He's going to be a "stick" (flag holder) so he's had to do extra marching.  I didn't quite understand what P-day they were on, he didn't have a date on that letter.  Hope the rest of you get letter soon!

No letter.  No phone call.  I'm getting anxious. :(  My son is EOD btw.

Hi All!

We still have not received any letters but we sure are sending them!  We have ordered ribbons and challenge coin.  Working on reservations.  I am staying up beat that "no news is good news"!  I also want to thank all the members old and new for the great comments and discussions.  I think this is what has helped me the most. I will share the information with my husband and he always says that's neat to know.

I looked at his rating sheet for EOD and it says EOD does have prep there at GL.  I am hoping that having done scuba and survival swimming (taught by retired Navy) faculty member will help in all this process.  Also, my SR went to NSI in Rhode Island when he applied for an NROTC scholarship.  It looks like  a lot of the early training is repetitive of what he did 2 years ago in Newport. I am hoping he remembered the information so these weeks will be a little easier.

Thanks again to all the veteran moms who support us and keep this forum going!

Whoops I forgot to ask....have we figured out what week/day we are in for training from the letters or phone calls? Thanks!

From what my son wrote in his letter dated Dec. 28, they are only in their first week of training - 1-3 is Wednesday, January 2, so they'll be cramming in a lot the next six weeks.

@LadyHawk...What wonderful news! Thanks for sharing.  We still have received no letters, but that sure explains a lot.  I sent a family picture on some stationary and wrote a letter on it and my best friend had put 2 family pictures on stationary and was going to have her kids write him notes on the back of the pictures.  I hope this is alright.

I am hopping that push just means they will be ready to graduate on the 8th!

Have a good evening!

N

LadyHawk   Thank you for sharing this info!  It truly made my day as we are sill waiting for a letter.

Great!  I'll include those in my future letters to my SR.  Thanks again!

LadyHawk..I think I am in love with you. I have been so stressed!!!!!! All your SR's info has helped ALOT. I hope our boys know each other. Please pray I get mail SOON.
