Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 807

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

My son will also be staying on for Dive Prep. I'm taking his phone etc. but not exactly sure if he'll be able to keep it yet.

cjrogers3 and sarahmadeliene:  Hoping our guys become fast friends since they will all be staying in GL for Diver Prep.  I will definitely bring my son's phone with me for PIR so I can give it back to him.  Don't forget the charger too, ladies.  Do you know if they will need some civilian clothes for the daytime spent with family over the PIR weekend, or will they be required to stay in uniform?   I'm still hoping for that first real call as well.  Yes, it does sound like they are busy from the time their feet hit the ground until they hit the sheets at night.  Bless all of them!

rogue, you my want to take a pair of sweats for them to rest up in at the hotel. My son wanted to get out and about, but I have heard some say in the past that their sons slept at the hotel.

cjrogers3, I did read that they would not be able to wear civilian clothes during their "liberty time" after graduation but would have to stay in their uniforms.

Bitter sweet my youngest got a letter today and he had mentioned that he had written me and his dad, but we did not get his letters.  It made my 17 year old very happy, he and his brother are only 11 months apart.  I'm sure we will get our tomorrow :).  The letter he wrote his brother was short and sweet, said he was thinking about him during "hell week" my youngest 2 a days for soccer. They both grew up playing soccer, a defender and a goalie, very close.  He wanted to rub in that as hard as sococcer "Hell Week" was he was sure what he was doing was harder :).  He said that they got an average of 3 hours a night sleep.  It was nice to see his handwriting.  Can't wait to read my letter.

Hope you get that letter tomorrow. I'd be happy with either a call or a letter this weekend. I also read that the SRs DO have to wear their uniform when outside over PIR weekend. It was suggested that parents bring some comfortable clothing for their SR to change into while spending time with you at your hotel. Take care.

Hello all.

Just took the time to navigate this site.

Our son is in Div. 807 as well and will be completing Dive Prep at GL.

We got our first letter from Him Thursday.

He said, he was getting acclimated well and was doing good (lots of classrooms).

I saw some comments about "having" to wear the uniform out on liberty.

I am bringing some sweats he can change in to at the hotel, but I expect him to be very proud of his uniform he just finished earning the right to wear.  Thus, I'm not bringing any civies.

He stated that their Div. commanders are great (the best at what they do)!

That made me feel better, knowing our recruits are in good hands.

Hello ladies. I am a veteran mom of 800 divisions. My son's PIR was October 2010. I haven't seen any SEAL contracts in this group, which is what my son had, so I will try my best to follow along.

I have read most the comments and I just want to clarify the personal belongings, such as cell phones. If your sailor is staying in GL then you will only have a short time to visit with him after PIR. Once he moves, which takes a few hours, you will receive a phone call from him to come pick him up. He can then have his personal belongings.

Thanks for the info.  I did read that we only get to visit with them for about 30 minutes after PIR - then they board a bus and go to A School to check-in with their belongings - which can take about 4 hours.  Then they call us and we can pick them up.  Sound about right?

I am one happy momma!! I got a letter today.  He sounded up beat, said it wasn't to bad, he said, "all you have to do is listen, pay attention to detail. Although in his bothers letter he said it was hard.  He said they were working out about 4 times per day.  He says the thing he misses most is music,  he says that he has not heard any since he's been there.  I told him to make his own, you never know who might join in :).   Hope you all had a wonderful day also!

Has anyone received a call today?

no :( I'm getting anxious! Some other divisions with the same PIR date have gotten 3 calls already! UGH! I know they're busier than most so I just try to keep telling myself that.
