Aren't these just the longest days in your life?  I'm now a mailbox junkie, hangin' out by the box all the time just waiting for that letter!

Does anyone have a son or daughter Ship 6, Div 945?  Being a performance division, I'd love to hear what you know about the workload and their (few) extra privileges.

        Thank you all!

Your all welcome!! :)

I just got them and posted them soon as I did!! :) I finally see a CLEAR Picture of my son also!!

Im a HAPPY Momma!! I will sleep better tonight. :)
Good Afternoon everyone.
Got two letters today from my SR.

Dated 05 SEPT 2010

He said they flagged everything but Scholastics(Awesome!). Said they were in a parade and it was nice being around civilians(Zion, Il). He said their first PIR performance was on the 10th SEPT 2010. He wrote his girl friend it was so neat that it made him emotional and that he can hardly wait for theirs.

He found a letter that he didnt mail dated on the 26 AUG 201. He said in it they were going to the the Marlinspike on the
27 AUG 2010.
He said the best of bc is the classroom instructors that the were funny and the worst is the food. They were told if they get dessert that they will work it out of all of them one way or another.
12SEPT 2010

They will be hitting the Gas Chamber tomorrow (13th). He said they will have a full week ahead of them.

Now me....
If they are starting Battlestations tomorrow they will probably be having their last PFT today or tomorrow. I know mine is having trouble getting through one part of it so I ask you all please say a prayer for him.

I also got a call from my 1st Sailor today. I also got to chat with him on the PC for a while when I got home too! He is doing great! He told me not to worry about his little brother that he will be fine...

Oh if only these kids would know, Mom+Kids+worry=normal. :)
Hope you all have a super day!
Thanks so much for this update! I appreciate hearing all the details of what's happening. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to any information about what they are doing. Thanks again and I know your SR will pass his last PFT and I bet he's not the only one worried. Take your 1st Sailor's advice, don't worry (easier said than done). :) I'm sure many, many prayers are being said on his behalf and hopefully for the entire division as well.
@Desert Girl, thanks for the prayers. I am trying not to worry. I keep telling myself 'no news is good news'. Glad I could share the news with you.

My 1st recruit also told me when I see his little brother (LOL Little --he is 6'3" and my first sailor is 6' if he is lucky) to bug admin (?) when he gets into his school to get in the 'brother program'. Since I have more than one son they can be on a ship together which would be nice. My husband said that would be good that way they have each others backs when at out touring ports. :) I will be sure to share that with my SR when I see him.
Good morning all!
We got a letter yesterday. Not a whole lot of news but I'm happy to share the little he wrote about. Written on 9-12, our SR said the upcoming week will be the confidence chamber, firefighting, last physical fitness test, last inspection, and last written test. Their performance at their first graduation was "super cool." (Mind you, coming from a young man who keeps everything so close to the vest, this is a huge statement!) He told my dh to check out the visitor center on Friday as there were lots of things of interest. Sadly, he said they've lost a few people from the division and a lot more will be gone after the final fitness assessment. He also said he got his last recruit haircut on Wednsday. The sides were shaved but the top hasn't been cut since July. He's trying to figure out what style to go with for PIR!!
Soooo, a week from today . . . . I can hardly stand it! Got my lists written, car snacks all lined up on the kitchen counter, and suitcase ready to be packed. Question is, will this coming week fly by or drag?!
Battlestations is Monday night. So that means they will be up from early am Monday to nightime on Tuesday. Pictures from PIR graduation are up on the RTC Facebook page. Maybe you'll see your recruit. :)
Chefswifey- Thanks, I went looked at them. :) Saw my SR!

I am still waiting to hear from the PFA-2 whether they all made it or not. I guess if I havent heard anything by bed time I have to believe he passed. They have their Captains Cup tomorrow and Battlestations on monday today it would seem like today would be the last day for the PFA-2.

@Patricia-Thanks for the update.
Oh, that is right huh? If they don't pass, they would receive a phone call right? I guess this means my wife passed!
@Shane- I would imagine they would get a phone call to let their loved ones know their graduation date changed. I will be sitting in Chicago on my normal Letter day next week. That must mean my SR passed to. I will be on pins and needles until tomorrow morning.
Looking back to the last group (PIR 9/17/10), the 900 division did their PFA-2 on Tuesday. So I think very likely it has already happened. Hopefully that is the case with our recruits, too.
@Desert Girl- that is great! Then BS ahead!! They can do it! :)
Yup Captains Cup is today, fingers crossed they do well against the other divisions. As far as passing the PFA2 not sure, I do know that the RDC's do everything they can to help them pass so they can graduate with their divisions. Just hoping that they are bringing home the C.C. Trophy today to put in their ship. :) That is good motivation for them all.
