Hoping to connect with anyone else who may have an SR in this division! Got a letter from him yesterday and was able to have a very brief conversation with him 11/11/11. So good to hear his voice.

Thanks for the info, Glenda, and for letting me know what is was that they earned their extra call for.  I'm also glad that you were able to receive his call, although it was brief, it's just so good to hear their voice again, isn't it?  They may get to call again this week, and then on Christmas!!! That will be best gift :)

Have a great week.  Teri

We got our phone call yesterday. What a great sound to hear. Sounds like they are really getting it together and woking together as a team now which is great. My daughter is the iron petty officer so she gets like 4 to 41/2 hours sleep as she is the one that sets the irons and turns them off as well. She never liked ironing at home so this is big news for me LOL Not much longer now we are on the downhill slide YAH!

We received a phone call on Saturday morning too!  I couldn't help but cry when I heard her voice but was able to get myself together to get thru the call.  She sounded tired but was in good spirits because their group had done so well and had earned the right to call home.  We are counting the days toward graduation and are very proud of how far all of them have come.

Melanie's mom...Have to agree, very proud!

I know several of you have ordered ribbons from me to wear to PIR. All of those orders have now been shipped. Please let me know what you think of them when they arrive. I am sure you will love them :-D With the holidays here the shipping seems to be taking an extra day or two depending on how far you are from me but hopefully you will all have them by this Friday or Tuesday at the latest. The mail doesn't run on Monday so letters from your SR's will probably be delayed next week as well. If anyone else would like to order the ribbons to wear to PIR to support your Sailor just send me a friend request on this site or send me an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com and I will send you all the ribbon info as well as some helpful tips for PIR. I hope you all have a great day.

anyone here from their SR?

Hi all my girlfriend is in this division and I got to hear her voice today during the adopt a sailor program it was a great Christmas gift! Hope everyone of you are all having a great christmas!

I got 3 phone calls and facebook pis today from my daughter. They look great and happy and looked happy to be together as a group. next up graduation, I cant wait. Merry Christmas to All! hope you have heard from your SR today!!!!

Congratulations to all those who were able to speak with their SRs on Christmas!!!  PIR is soooo close now!!

I also heard from my son yesterday..a few times! He was also able to call his sister(who was here), his brother, my mom and my brother. He sounded so good and happy! I am so thankful that there are good people out there who do this for our kids. This is the first Christmas we have ever been apart, a difficult day as I my dad died a couple hours after he left for boot camp, so I was missing them both.....

One week until we leave for PIR, we will drive to Portland and then fly out from there. I cannot wait..it is hard to say who is more excited, him or I!!  !I was taking orders of what I needed to bring. Will I have any room left to pack for myself??

Is anyone else planning on going to Sarge's Meet and Greet at the Sundance Saloon 1/5/12? Would love to know so that I can meet some of the other parent's in my son's division. Holiday blessings to all of the Navy Moms and family members, Glenda

Hi Glenda,  we're planning on going to Sarge's Meet and Greet on the 5th.  Hope to see you there (soon!!!), Teri :)

Looking forward to it!  Are you flying out of Portland, OR? G
