Got my husband's form letter on Monday, March 5. It was postmarked on March 1, so I'm thinking it takes about 2-3 business days to get from there to Austin, Texas. Hope that's helpful for anyone.

If anyone else's loved one is in this ship/division, please let me know. He's an AECF. I don't want anyone to go without letters so I was going to ask him if there was a particularly lonely recruit and organize some sort-of letter writing campaign so no one feels left out.

Thats nice to know I was thinking my son would be the oldest.. okay then

Just got off the phone with my son.  They let him call and we spoke for 40 mins.  I hope you all got calls too!!!

yippy...yes we also got the call isnt that AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZING !!!

40 minutes holy crapy.......my son called and i missed it:(  he called his dad and he missed it to, so he called his mom (not sure if everyone knows but i'm the stepmom) and his girlfriend.  his mom answered and his girlfriend was there with her when he called.  he did leave me a message though on my cell phone, i was so excited to hear his voice and so happy that i get to play it over and over again:)  he did mention that this was supposed to be their second call but they didn't get the frist because of the division not doing well:(

awe i pray and hope you have another chance to talk to him... still nice to have a message that you can replay ... have a blessed day

i am sick since sunday and today i got the best medicine.... i still cant believe it ... my son called... it was out of the blue... i am laying on the couch and my daughter saying the id says payphone...and i just scream piiiiiiiiiiiiiiick up, and it was him ... this is PRICELESS we talked for about 40 minutes ... connections wasnt so good ...lots of static in it .,.. BUT I AM THE HAPPIEST MOM in the world... did any other mom or wife from 7/127 received a call also.... i could had crawl into the phone ...

Do they all get to make calls or only some of them? Do they do this as a division? I have not received a call :(

Finally got a call and letters from my son.  He is the divisions Yeoman and he speaks of "Phillip"  as one of his best friends ~ Anyone have a Phillip?  He told many of the guys about this website and has mentioned quite a few guys as friends, things seem to be progressing.

I heard that Phillip is one of the strongest guys in the division and that he is sometimes also referred to as "Man Cake" lol

i'm sorry to hear that you didn't get a phone call. my son said that his division was having problems with marching so i'm not sure if that was why they didn't get their first phone call home for good behavior or if that was why the mail was held up.  we received a letter today that was from the fist week after processing ended, the one before that was from the 2nd sunday.  so for some reason they were out of order.  i hope that you hear from him soon.  if he is going to be calling a cell phone make sure you keep it with you at all times:)  that way you don't miss it like i did.

About what time did you get the call, if you don't mind me asking? I have been getting my letters way out of order too. I know he got moved to Ship Staff duties (answered a question wrong during a Personal Inspection). My sailor also mentioned difficulties with the marching and cohesiveness as a unit in general. He also said he's made friends with a Davis -- anyone familiar?

my phone call came in around 6:30 that night.  we got another letter yesterday that was dated the 19th.
