Hey =)

I had started a discussion at another place, but figured this was a better spot for it.  I just wanted to start a place where we could all chat that our children were in the same group.

My name is Candy and my son is a 4th generation sailor on his dad's side. I am so proud of him. His father was in the Navy and I was Air Force. He did a little bit of college and decided that it wasn't for him. He is going to Mississippi for A school to be a SeeBee builder.

So glad I was told about this site.

Tysonsmom, glad you are back!

So many of us look like ship 07 Div 163 did others get a phone call today?

Hi everyone! Just saw the weather for Waukegan.  43 degrees and light rain.  I know my Florida kid is not liking this cold rainy weather.

Yes, but what will the weather be like on June 1?

Still waiting for the phone call.. sigh.

Rain or Shine, the weather will be perfect on June 1st.  :)  We'll be seeing our Sailors!

My son wrote that if they pass a test of some sort today they get phone calls tomorrow, mon. so stay close to the phone you might get the call.

Hi, My name is Marie and my son is also ship 7 div 163. My son is a fist gen Navy and we are also very proud of him. Did you get a phone call yet? Derrick called last wed. I shed Happy Tears! Anyone know where the best place to stay is?

@thompm29, i hope you are right.  I would love to hear from my son today,  I miss him so much.  He was able to call once before, only because he earned the phone call.  He has sent 2 letters so far. So, I guess that is better than nothing. I have a sneaking suspicion that they will try to wait to Mothers Day and call.

I have never been to the Great Lakes area.  Only by researching the internet and the Ramada and the Marriott looks like the best places to stay.  If anyone knows any thing different let me know please.

Ladies I do agree the weather on June 1st is going to be mighy fine♥

My son is on ship 7 but Div 170, I made reservations at the Navy Lodge which also got good reviews, it is only $65 a night with no tax and is just down the street from PIR.

The Navy lodge sounds interesting and affordable

We just booked 2 rooms tonight at Navy Lodge.   Reviews stressed cleanliness there. Maybe we can have a big group from our division?
