OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to PIR 06/01/2012

OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits  are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

My son is still in GC, finally in prototype. He got married last year on January 1st and my beautiful grandson was born in September.  My sailor says that he is hoping for ELT or staff pickup which would keep them in South Carolina but would be okay in Washington state, Hawaii, or California.

Ok my son is finishing up his A school and will recieve orders soon about what ship he will be on, etc.  What can we share?  Are the continued groups as it relates to what ship they are on?

Hi Cindy- I am not for sure but I don't think you can order the Keel any longer they only sent the # needed to be printed based on the prior to PIR orders.  You might what to check with the Photo Lab at RTC though just to make sure.  Good Luck

We received the Keel book today as well but still no DVD yet. Our Keel book only had my sons division 168 and his brother division 167 in it,  Can't wait for the DVD to come
