Anybody else have a son/daughter is this division?  Can't wait to go to PIR on June 1st

Hey, txbabydocmom,

I don't know how old your girls are (or how many?)  but we talked to our kids' high school about letting our two teens go to their brother's PIR.  They were supportive, and said any finals they miss can be made up in the next week, and they'll give them "Incomplete" for the grade until then, with no penalty on their grade(s).  If one of them was a senior that wouldn't do, of course, but since neither one is, it's all good.  Good luck with everything!

My son is also in this division and is going to Charleston, SC for nuke school.

My son is also in this division and going to nuke school...that makes 3 of us!

I'm not sure if I will be able to attend his PIR, so if I don't y'all will have to give my boy a hug for me.

momofanuke,  I will definitely look for your boy and try to hug him for you!  Although it is my wish and prayer (are you listening Lord?) to provide for a way for you to be there, as I know there will be no sight more satisfying to him than the smile and gaze of love on his mom's face on that day.  Bless you for your service, your husband's, and bless your son!  My boy is, I'm sure, already buds with him!  My son qualified for nuke, but as he said, they "threw a color blind test" at him!  lol   He has a red deficiency, so they moved him to Aviation Electronics or whatever.  Thanks for posting!

you have to keep us posted on if you are going to be able to make it to PIR! I am not going but my brother and sister in law will be attending their sailors PIR and would be thrilled to have your sailor come out to dinner with them. If your sailor has no plans.

Also in case anyone is interested, I found out that RTC has a facebook page and at least 1 time per week they post pictures. They don't/can't post what division it is from, but I am watching them just in case I see a familiar face. I just thought you all might like to know this too.

Got the form on Friday.  We have had a few very short phone calls also (seeking additional information).  Matt sounds tired.  I can't wait to see the transformation in June!

We have rec'd 2 very quick and to the point calls also in the last couple of days.  My son is going to be a CTT and he was needing additional info as part of getting his security clearance.  At least I got to hear his voice but couldn't ask him any questions just could only give him the info he needed.

So far we have not had any calls for his security clearance, and I know that he had to fill out a bunch of paperwork back when he signed up for the nuke program. The lack of follow up calls could be because my husband and I are both prior military and held security clearances ourselves.  My husband still holds one due to where his civilian job occasionally takes him. I have to admit I sure would love to hear my sons voice, even if it is just for a minute.

If any of you need Phone Cards for your SR...go to Calls for Recruits.org and get them for FREE....they send FREE Pre-Paid Phone Cards for Recruits in Boot Camp!!!

Does anyone know what day and week our recruits are in right now?  Was trying to figure out what part of training they are in and I keep forgetting to ask my son in the letters that I have wrote him-- Of course it wouldn't matter if I had asked him because I still haven't gotten a letter yet- I know they are only allowed time to write at certain times but I hate this waiting.

Thanks!

Man, after reading the above posts I was hoping for a letter from Matthew.  I guess it takes a little longer to get letters to Texas.  Maybe tomorrow.
