I know I would love to go to the meet and greet. I am staying at the Ramada so it will be no problem to get there:)
My son's fiance and I  would love to meet with you guys! (She's arossi if you see her posts) I'll send you a message in just a minute

My soon to be Mother-in-Law and I are planning to!!

Does anyone know how far the residence inn is from Ramada?

It's only about 10 mins, I got directions off google maps, we are staying at the Residence inn also, is it the one in Waukegan that you will be at?
Yes that is the one we are staying at:)
i got a letter from my husband tonight, he says his school is 33 weeks instead of the 17 weeks he was originally told. but that if your a school is more then 20 weeks the navy will pay to move family up there. Looks like I'll be moving to Chicago soon! oh and that they got their offical hair cuts and the commanders surprised them with their dog tags, he says that that means you have seniority over the other recruits. he also mentioned again that they are still real bad.. hopefully they still graduate.
txnavygf320-I'm happy for you! My husband's A school is only 14 weeks but he mentioned something about 12 months so I don't know. I wish I can move to where he is too. So did everyone get dog tags or is it only for certain recruits? I wonder if there's any chance we (the wives) can get a copy of our husbands' dog tags.. hehe I'd love to wear it :)
He wad told 17 weeks from his recruiter originally, but after reading here i had a feelin it would be longer. Hes goin for FC. Hopefully if it takes 33 weeks they'll pay to move me, but we'll see.

As far as us gettin tags, i doubt it. They're (our boys) are military property now and we're just along for the ride. We don't get any perks. Lol
So he's AECF? My husband is too but I can't seem to get an answer out of him whether he's FC or ET yet! Also don't know if he's Grad & Go. I swear he give me all the info I don't want and none of the stuff that I do. This is a test in our communication skills... ;)

ha ha, i hear ya on that one! mine thinks the recruiter was his friend and was honest about everything. i still dont think he realizes how big of a change the navy will be from everyday civilian life. but i'm letting him realize it on his own.

where is your husbands A school? if its in great lakes he'll be considered grad and go, from what i've read. http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ there's a family guide on this website that's been real helpful.

My son said the same thing! They had to do something as a team and he said they did great, he even overheard the powers that be say how well they did.  Of course they didn't tell them they did well though! He was amused at that. :) Good for them! FINALLY !
