For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What a wonderful birthday gift for husband. Are you planning on attending the Meet and Greet on Thursday? Wish we heard from more moms, grandmothers with boys in 09/359. Carolee

For the meet and great we do not get in until the evening on Thursday. Flying in from Florida. We received another letter from our son and he sounds a lot different already. The way his is writing he sounds more proud of himself and what he is becoming. He said he can not wait to show us what he has learned so far and it sound like the group is coming together a little more and that his cold is gone, but he did say compaired to Fl the weather is a little cooler. I know his greatgrandfather is looking down on him and is smiling along with being proud at the same time for he served in the Navy. Hope all is well, and the countdown continues.

Just letters for me Carolee, He did get to call home last Tuesday but chose to call his girlfriend back here at home, she said he seemed good..I agree we don't see alot of post about 359 :(..But on the upside its only 3 more weeks and we can SEE our SR's!!

Thanks for replying. So glad that you heard from him. It's hard to compete with a girlfriend :). Our SR is our grandson. We, my husband, his dad and I will be there for graduation. Are you planning on going to the Meet and Greet on Thursday? We have received one letter (as grandparents that is all we expect and are happy to get 1), his dad has received 2 and one of his Aunt's has received 1. His first letter was not very encouraging. His letter to us was not very encouraging either. His letter to his Aunt was a little better. I think he has had a hard time (I hope it is getting better for him). We pray that he will pass all of his physical tests and will indeed graduate on the 28th. Hopefully, Justin is doing well! Carolee

Carolee,I won't be attending the Meet and Greet ( I wished i was) but I will be making a trip over 10 Hrs :(...I wont be leaving till Thursday morning,..My son said they DIV was struggling at the beginning i really hope things are coming together for ALL of them, i'm told this is very normal for a DIV so i'm trying not to worry, I'm also hoping he passes all his physical test..I can relate on many many things with you! I hope your grandson is doing well and i wish him all the luck!

Hi,
Our SR's dad got another letter yesterday and he (SR) sounds better. He got is white sailors uniform and he said it was awsome. Also, the blue uniform which he said itched :). Had all of his blood work done, shots in butt, arms and shoulders. Everyone is coughing, sneezing and sniffing. And he was going to try very hard to graduate. Anyway, this letter is so much more encouraging than his other letters. I'm sure these guys are bonding and getting used to the rooutine. Can't wait until graduation. Carolee

Good Evening everyone. I just wanted to say Hi to everyone and say thank you for having raised the boys that you all have and for them choosing to serve our country. I am very proud of our son. He is now 4th generation Navy and now second generation submariner.
I hope to hear more from families from Ship 09 Division 359.
If anyone needs anything or just some words of encouragement please don't hesitate to ask. My husband was in the US Navy for 20 years and I have gone from statuses of girlfriend to wife and mother with children, all with a man that was at sea most of the time.
I am ready to see all of our boys be transformed to men in just a few weeks.

As my husband says, if they keep their mouths shut and ears open. The NAVY will not let them fail. I can talk for hours on how the NAVY can make boys in to the best men.
