Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 087 and 088

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

  1. I received my first letter yesterday too. Short and sweet! My son said Division 087 is a "push division" and they get to graduate earlier than usual. No date given, I wonder if that means an earlier time in the same day? Any body else hear that and if so were  any details given as well?

My son said that it means they are graduating 3 days short.  I think that means that they should be finishing in the middle of the next week and graduating the following Friday, but they are "pushing" them through for 2/7.

I see that several received letters yesterday, maybe I will get one today.  It has been a rough week and I sure could use one.  Has anyone made their plans for the PIR?

No letter again today.

A PUSH division is a division that had processing and then were on p hold until the division filled up instead of starting training right after processing. P hold can be a few days to two weeks, and what this does is makes their training time shorter than the routine training. I don't know when your SRs started training or what week/day they are on, but if you count the weeks and days they probably have BS before week 6 day 5.

No worries your SRs will have the same training as the rest of them, and get it all done on time.

My son was in a PUSH division, his processing and p days totaled 16. His division and brother division waited for 60 females to arrive (yes, 60). Battlestations for them was week 6 day1. :)

Thanks, that makes more sense then my son trying to explain it to me.

I got my first phone call from my daughter today. Super excited!!!

I was at work and missed mine. Super disappointed. I had the phone right beside me! Luckily he was able to get through to his sisters!

Good morning.  Just wondering if anyone knows what training day we are on.  Still no letter and no phone call.

I don't have any idea, I have never discussed that with him. What does that tell us? It never occurred to me to ask, maybe I should? By the way, I have made arrangements for PIR. We are staying at the Navy Lodge.

I have been leaning to the Navy Lodge also.  Waiting on my daughter to tell us if she can go or not.  She is in college, but wants to go with us.  She misses her little brother almost as much as I do.

My Daughter is in the 088 Division.  Cant wait to see her on 2/7...  She is leaving for Meridian Mississippi after graduation.  Waiting to see how much time she gets with us before she leaves.  Any of the veterans have any idea?
