Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 139 and 140
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Hi everyone! My son is in DIV 139 as well. I have gotten 3 calls so far, one that was about 15 seconds long telling me he made it, will write me in 2-3 weeks and that I should get "the box" in the mail (which I did, about 2 weeks in). The second was for more information regarding his step-siblings (and a quick hello) and the third was Saturday. What a nice relief to hear he is doing well. I'm looking forward to going up for graduation (not so much the freezing temps), I can't wait to hear all about it! My son said he has been writing like crazy but didn't realize that they only mail out on Sundays so we should be getting some mail from him this week. I told him I have been like a crazy stalker mom waiting for my cell phone to ring, I didn't want to take the chance on missing his first call for NOTHING!

Just got a call from my SR. He sounded positive, upbeat and a little more mature. He had watch this morning as was glad that they didn't change the time for the phone calls because I think the schedule can be changed anytime. If he was on watch he would not have been able to make the call. I got to talk for about 28min (about..ha!) then they gave them the signal and he had to go. They did a PT test but one kid passed out so they all failed. They are letting them take it again next week.
So happy.. ;)

My son called earlier today, too!!! This was his first call since the "I'm Here" call. It sounds like many in Div 139 and 140 were able to make phone calls today -- that would make a lot of happy mommas.
My son sounded positive, so that was such a huge relief. Now I know that he will definitely finish. Just 6 more weeks. I also asked how the individuals in the division were working together, and he said "good" so it sounds like its a good group.
He says he's eating well, that the galley has cookies and brownies, and that he is probably gaining weight. He said they don't go outside much, but when they do they dress in 5 layers including a parka, so they don't get cold. I understand that many recruits in the division got their wisdom teeth out yesterday -- and those that did will have 2 days to rest. He said that he has been receiving my letters and that he sent out a letter to me (I have to check the mailbox). They can only write on Sundays ... if they have the time.
I hope you all get to hear from your son soon, too!

My son had pretty much the same things to say, CatMomma. He isn't getting his wisdoms pulled, but instead was toLd you're fine, come back for a teeth cleaning later... He loves his division and is ready to graduate. He can't wait for some homemade cookies or cupcakes, though. I love hearing how my son is becoming a fine young man. I'm so proud.

Hi rd669! You're in the right place. In this group, all of us have sons in Ship 9 Division 139 and Division 140, which consist of about 150 recruits total. Our sons live in the same Ship (building) and train together.
There is also a larger group discussion for all the sons/daughters graduating on 4/11/2014, which consists of 9 divisions total (somewhere around 700 recruits). The experienced NavyMoms who have been through this before, monitor the larger group discussion, so that is a good place to ask your questions: http://navyformoms.com/group/pir04112014/forum
This Div 139/140 group and the PIR 4/11/2014 group are both good groups for you to find support.

Hi All, we have a SR in 139....just got the form letter today! His brother and girlfriend got letters today and he told them he is sending out a bunch this week! No call though! Anyone have any ideas why the form letter was just sent and no call?

Hi Amy, not sure what the exact answer would be for you. Sometimes when others get to make calls, others are on duty. It could also be he had dental work done.
Not sure why the form letter took so long, either. Sorry I couldn't be of greater assistance. -

Hello all, so yes saturday was a nice surprise to hear from my SR. He sounded great, upbeat, very confident and just overall in a good place. I was rather shocked to actually hear from him for another few weeks. He did mention someone passing out at the pt so they all failed, poor kid, hope he is ok and it was just a bug or something like that. So he mentioned they were on day 1-5? i think, does anybody know what day they are actually on? I didn't write it down and i wished i did so i can kind of follow along with where he is at. I had asked about PT and he mentioned there wasn't that much of it yet, and for him i think that would be the easier part than some of the studying and testing... So if anyone caught from their SR what day it was for them, if you could let me know i would appreciate it... Thanks..
