Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 427 and 428

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Ship 9 Division 428.  Got a letter today and he said they have gotten flags for inspection and live fire. He said that he has passed all the tests so far, including swimming. Said that they were doing fire fighting now. He also put in some of the RDC's favorite sayings - not really appropriate to post on here! He also drew a picture of the first medal he received. Sounds like everything is on track. Only 2 weeks left!!

I just requested to join the PIR FB group. Guess I have to wait to be "accepted" now.  My son is Div 428.  proudmom - I got a letter yesterday, also, and he said they just missed being able to get a flag. (?)  Maybe they took the test again and did better & you got more updated info??  I guess I don't understand.  Every letter he keeps saying that everything is "not really that hard, just busy" - I don't know if he's just telling me that so I don't worry about him or if he's really not having that difficult of a time!  The letter yesterday even said "Now is when boot camp starts getting fun!"  Haha! I don't think he better say that out loud or they'll make sure to get tougher on them! :)  He also said on the Navy's birthday, for dinner they had prime rib and stuffed salmon! Guess they're eating better than me! LOL!  He's been promoted again and is now the person that calls cadence when they are marching - pretty cool!  I'm getting so excited to see him and everyone from here in just 2 short weeks!!!

You will eventually get accepted and you will love it there! We are all so excited to meet up at Sarges and talk face to face. Sounds like your son and mine are in the same division and they are getting ready for the big day!  I hope you get accepted on FB soon!

Hello, this is my first post. I have been reading all the yours and love hearing all the updates. I haven't had a call from my son in four weeks and it's driving me crazy. Thank goodness he has written a few letters or I would be insane by now. Glad this is almost over. Can't wait till next week. Wishing everyone safe travels!

Have yo been over to the Navy FB page yet? I started here but the page on FB is amazing and get to meet a ton of wonderful people all with the samePIR date as your own.

No, I haven't but that sounds like a good idea. Thanks, I need all the help I can get.

Hi Mark's mom same ship and division for my son. I missed a call Tuesday night and am already crazy. I can't believe it's been 4 weeks for you. I did have a 2 minute conversation with him on Friday. Sending lots of prayers. His three year old brother was having a coniption fit. I have since changed my ringer to a air horn .lol. We're almost there. We all need to stay strong. I brave today knowing they're braving it more.

Glad you got to talk to him, I have been taking my phone with me everywhere. I'm hoping he hasn't gotten in trouble. :)

No news is good news and that's what my son said on Friday . I know better to hear it from them. This is a big week for them. Always on my mind.

I know I have to keep telling myself that. Thanks for the reminder.

Hopefully tomorrow . Get our calls. So excited
Any calls from this division lately?
