Hi Ladies and Gents (too) !

Just moving this discussion over from the Leaving from Boot Camp in August Page since it makes more sense to have it hear now!

Please join so we can all stay together and support each other through this!  Has anyone in this group received a letter or phone call yet?

I'm still waiting on that letter. Being in Florida might be making the difference right now. but I'm trying to be patient-not doing a very good job :)

kellig- you poor thing. Keep checking here and if we see or hear anything about phone calls, we will post! I'm like you and am not expecting a phone call since it has only been a week, so you probably will be fine. Hang in there and hope you have some sunshine soon!
Maribeth- that bittersweet feeling of those letters...great to hear from them, sad to hear that they are homesick, and makes us want to hug and squeeze them even more. What a roller-coaster ride! Hug right back to you. Have a blessed day!
proudtobe~I wish we all lived closer too, and were able to get together with one another. Thankfully we have this site to support one another.
I knew you guys would help me get through the day, thanks much! My day didn't get much better but at least it didn't culminate in a missed call! Tomorrow's another day, another day that much closer to seeing our SR.
Hi Ladies-

Received two(2) more letters today from J.... Sounding much better and much stronger! He said the division got to listen to music on Saturday and that the RDC's are giving them more room to breathe. Said he heard that BattleStations would be on a Friday, but wasn't sure and would let me know for sure! Next week starts Hell Week for them, so we should pound them with support letters and cards.

IMPORTANT: He said that he heard they might get phone calls on the 11th (tomorrow) but he also said that with his division you just never know! He did say they were doing better just still having a few problems.

Hoping that you all get some communication and praying that those phone calls come in tomorrow! God Bless!
THANK YOU. Still no letters but enough info from you that will keep me sane for a few more days!
Thanks for the info! My son doesn't give me too much info but says he is doing well. I am assuming you mean this upcoming Friday for Battlestations? A phone call tomorrow would be nice!!! I got a letter yesterday but he didn't have too much to say except he was still battling a cold.
Yes~ thank you Proudtobe for sharing your letters from your son with us. Your son seems to write you often. Luckily for all of us that he does, LOL! I'm thankful for this site. Even if we don't hear from our recruits, at least we can hear though someone elses what is going on in their division. Thanks for sharing! Hopefully we'll all get phone calls tomorrow. I will have my phone in my pocket on vibrate, since I'll be on the harley tomorrow on my way to the Jersey Shore. Maybe they'll even be a letter in the mail from him tomorrow too.
say hello to snookie Lol
on the phone right now!
Yes, yes, me too!!!!!! It was such a nice way to start off my weekend!! I was really down in the dumps too!!! He sounds great but did tell me he is a grad and go, but I assured him we would spend whatever time we could with him!!! Yoooo hooooo!!!
It was an awesome way to start the day! I can't remember everything he said, should have written some of it down. They are still a big division, haven't lost as many as the divisions usually, only 4 or 5. He said he had heard rumors they were grad and go but wouldn't know for sure until a week or so before PIR. Things are getting better, just like everyone else has been saying. He was a section leader for a little while but something happend on watch so he was demoted. He wasn't upset about it because he didn't really want to be a section leader anyway. That's the kind of kid he is, pretty laid back - gives 110% but gives it quietly. It sounds like they have been through alot of leaders. Hope everyone else got their calls! Have a great weekend.
