Has anyone heard news?  No contact can be nerve racking.
I'm hoping for a letter today...but other than that the last news was last Wednesday. It was supposed to have been a VERY busy week last week, so I'm hoping this week is better. Only 17 days and some odd hours left to go!! I'll post again after the mailman comes and let you know if I hear anything.
I got two letters today! He's in very good spirits...sounds stronger and more confident. Talked about the flags the division has won and friends he's making. I've been reminded by him to keep things generic here as the RDCs read these posts..so..hoping you got letters today as well. Keep us updated!
My son is Ship 11- Div 001, as well.  Can anyone tell me if they've rec'd the box with their son's belongings.  Supposedly, it's sent out about a week after they get to basic.  Also, it said that three weeks after they get to basic, the CO will send out the list of people for grad. tickets and the password for the gate passes.  I still don't have any of that yet, either.  I've read so many posts here and it is so neat!!  I haven't heard from my son for about  3 weeks, and I do get letters weekly.  He writes quite a bit.  I saw some people posting about "nukes" or something.  It sounds like a group or something.  Someone fill me in please.  Aside from my dad being in the Coast Guard about 50 years ago, I know NOTHING about the military.  Again, it feels great to read these posts!  Thanks so much:)
Wow...you still haven't gotten the box with your son's belongings or the form letter? I did receive both about 10-12 days after he left. It is imperative that you have the form letter so that you can attend PIR. You may want to send a message to the RTC through their Facebook page or leave a message for the other ladies here on the main discussion board. There are a few veteran moms who will probably be able to steer you in the right direction. My son is a "nuke"...just a reference to his job in the nuclear field. What job has your son chosen? Feel free to ask questions, there are lots of ladies here who love to help. Good luck!
I never got any of form letters since he left from his dad's house.  Since his dad and I are both going I wondered if they will give out two gate passes and how that would work.  I will have to facebook again.  Thankfully they are so helpful.  Can't believe we are in the same month as PIR?  It will be here before we know it.
I did some research, and as long as you have the password you can go online to the Navy site and print out your gate pass.  They password is with that form letter, though:(  I'm getting worried!
I found out last night that all his stuff and form letter were sent to his girlfriend's house.  She didn't tell us because she didn't realize it was important?  Hmmm.....I feel better knowing it's accounted for:)
Yay! So glad you found out. The form letter will have the four names of those he's chosen to invite to graduation. although since there are only 7 divisions graduating, there should be plenty of room. the password is written on that letter too. Lets keep fingers crossed for phone calls this weekend!

Uh oh, my SR's gonna be mad at me! I haven't sent a letter in like, 3 days, I got a new tattoo (he's not a fan of tattoos and piercings- he doesn't like my nose piercing lol) and...I got in an accident with the car I bought from him (which he loves more than me. LOL.)

Also, in my last letters I recieved, guess what the first thing he mentioned was? ICE CREAM! Some people never change. Hahahaha! Hope you all are doing well :) xx

Sounds like you're gonna be in big trouble!  Reliving your teenage years and being rebellious?

My advice would be to take him out for ice cream before having the tattoo/piercing/wrecked car discussion to cushion the blow. lol

16 days and a few odd hours to go!!

Hahahaha yes of course!! Food seems to change his mind about everything--how do you think I got him to go out with me? LOL!!!!! ;)

Just so you guys know too, today is 5-4. Battlestations is 6-5. If they pass, they're officially soldiers! WOO HOO!
