Overnight isn't too bad.

Will you leave Wednesday to make sure you arrive at PIR on time?

Is there much of a cost difference or are you just doing it for the experience of the train ride?

To ride in coach, it is much less expensive, but I would probably want a cabin. It does increase it, but yes, I am doing it mostly for the experience. I haven't looked at it in a couple of weeks, but if I remember correctly, the train goes into Chicago on either Thursday morning or Friday morning. I am not sure of the events yet or the schedule to know all of the timimng of things to look at. Once I get the letter, I will look into more closely and start to make decisions.

Nice Mumz - looks like he is surrounded with medics.

Knowing my son, that is a good thing!
I considered traveling Amtrak but really there was no savings and it mean't a longer ride there.  My son was told that he was going to probably be last A school class at GL.  It is set to close in July and then all Corpsman training will be in San Antonio.  I am kind of hoping he gets to go to San Antonio for a change in enviroment.  My husband and I are going on a business/leisure tip in September to San Antonio.  Would be really great to be able to spend some time with him.    Hopefully all the kids are getting along and working as a team.  Looks like the Mom's are also doing the same.

I hope he gets to go to San Antonio too. It is really beautiful there. That would be an added plus since you are planning a trip there later in the year!! I hope that works out in your favor.

I think they learn quickly that it is better to work as a team. If they are anything like their moms, you are right - they should be well on their way!! :0)

Just curious where everyone is from?  We are from Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Houston, Tx here!
Northern Los Angeles county CA
Five - I think you are currently carrying the prize for the longest distance away.
Wow Mumz! Were you at the swearing in ceremony at the MEPS office on 2/8? I know that they had multiple times, but I was there at the 10am one. Just wondering. What part of Houston are you in? I live in the Heights and work out at Beltway8 and Westheimer.

I am going to message you rather than post publicly - the whole intelligence thing.........I have to start being really careful.
