I just got my letter! FYI - My son reported to GL late on Tuesday 3/6.  I live in the Chicago area. His box came within 36 hours and the letter arrived today!

I'll tell him to share with shipmates that might not have them.

As of monday, sr's receiving mail from the south still had not gotten any.

He wouldn't have had stamps until he received my first letter which I sent the first week he was gone.  If some of the sr's have not gotten any mail yet maybe my son is one of the ones who hasn't gotten my letters yet.

I just talked to my SR's mother, and she reminded me that everything is public on here. I apparently don't understand privacy settings, so I deleted all my posts with his name in them! Silly me!! I am going to get that poor boy in trouble!

Just remember this when posting!!

anyone in 131 hear anything today?  nothing here, no phone call or mail.....he's been gone since 3/5  :(

Just got off the phone with my SR. I am bawling like a baby now.

They are currently on day 2-5, and tomorrow starts 3-1. They get their next call on week 7!

My grandfather is ill and was admitted to the hospital yesterday, so hearing him tell me that everything will be fine, and that he's always thinking of me helps.

He sounded so, so positive and upbeat. He actually enjoys it! He likes his RDCs and says he is learning a lot while there. He is struggling on folding, but I could have told you that!

He said that he will tell the other men to tell their mothers to join this site, and he also says for everyone to send them news. They are all interested in March Madness and apparently us ladies are forgetting to send that.

What else can I remember? OH!!!!! If any of you can, send a manila envelope with enough postage so they can mail their letters back to us. It is getting to the point that some of them will have to throw away some letters and save their favorites in order to make room. If all of us send a few envelopes and enough postage, they can give some of the other guys the same envelopes so they won't have to throw letters away. I am going to send about 5, so if any of you can do that, please do!

Ummm...what else can I remember? If I think of anything else after I pull it together, I will post!

Which one is "scooters" mom? Private message me if you can!!

Just got off the phone a few minutes ago.  He had 15 minutes and it sure flew!  He didn't have any complaints so that was good.  Sounded like only one guy had dry socket so they all did well with their extractions and only a few have to retest for the swimming.  So it sounds like they are all doing pretty well.  He did say something about a few days where they didn't have mail.  I didn't really understand but he said he put it in his letter.  So maybe I can get more out of that when it gets here. It was just so nice to hear his voice!!

My SR is having trouble with his wisdom teeth and is going to see the doctor again. Possibly him?!?

The last letter my SR got was the one I wrote on the 19th and mailed on the 20th.

I think he said that 7 SRs have been dropped or held back, not sure which. But maybe both..?

I was going to ask about how many were no longer with them, but didn't have time.  There were 5 of us huddled around the phone on speaker just absorbing whatever he had to say. It's like there was so much I wanted to ask that my mind went blank.  Oh well, most important was just getting to talk to him and hear for myself that he sounded good.

no call for me or GF, are they still calling?  can anyone find out about my son???

if your boys ask who atimeforart son is, he will know.....he knows I am timeforart....

I asked my SR to find out whose mother is the artist! He said he would find out, but did not know right off.
