Thank you Barb, Your words are like a soothing balm.  I do hope we get to meet at PIR.  Have you seen the link on the survey letters you can copy and send to your SR to fill out?  I sent one to my daughter and she filled it out and included some embellishment. They are quick to fill out for your son and funny too!.  (Page 65 of the PIR 5/26 main site from Diannep).  Are you on the Recruit Training Command Ship 11, Div 181 facebook site too?  Thank you again! Joan
Hi Joan, you are welcome, we're all in this boat (or ship) together! No i haven't seen that survey but that sounds neat, I'll do it, thanks. And yes I', also on the facebook link. Hope we get to meet too. I'm staying at ramada wed to fri. Barb
I sent the questionnaire to my son yesterday. I think he will enjoy it. I have search for the facebook site and can't find it. Can you help?----Sheri
the site is US Navy recruit command center in the search line, then there are topic tabs and discussion tabs, you should find us there
I just received a 15 minute call from my SR!!  She sounded great and we finally got that chance to connect and converse!!  I answered on the first ring this time!!!! They will begin week 4 training this week, endearingly called hell week because of the amount of inspections and tests.  To be able to say good luck and atta-girl was priceless!  All the best to Div 181 SR's!
Got a wonderful wake-up Saturday morning from our son. He sounded in good spirits. He said div 181 has yet to completely come together but it's getting better. He said they are performing well in their drills when they march. He said they got PT for nearly 2 hours because of some knuckle heads that still cannot get with the program after 4 weeks. Sounds like they need to have a blanket party after lights out, Full Metal Jacket style.
AMEN!!
Hi everyone in Division 181!  Just wanted to say hi and say the next 2 weeks will fly by!
Hey 181!  Hope you are all well and Barb is resting and following Doctor's orders!  Just 12 days to go!  We received another letter from our SR and she has passed all her tests and inspections!  All she says is she needs to practice more with the "stick".  She will be carrying a flag for our division.  She said the live fire was intense at first but ended up doing very well. She has never handled a gun before.  She said time goes by slow and super fast all at once and finds it hard to believe only 19 days until graduation (She wrote on Mother's Day with Happy MD wishes for me!).  She calls every week "on to the next adventure"!  So for all our "adventurers" and their adventurous parents and family and friends - Onward to PIR!
Hi all, Does anyone recognize their SR in the this picture from the May 10th random photos on the RTC facebook page? 181? I'm trying to detemine which division it is because I think my SR is in the picture. Thanks!
I don't see my daughter.  She said she was a "stick" and that isn't her in the front row.  She might be in the back row but I can't see her.  Where in line is your SR?
quidam, Did your SR send you the filled out survey?
