Anybody else have a son/daughter is this division?  Can't wait to go to PIR on June 1st

I have not received any calls since the one telling me he got there but I keep my cellphone by my side.  I can't wait til PIR to see my son and all of your sons/daughters I can not express how full of pride I have for these young men/women to decide to join the military.  Everyone should be proud to have raise a child with such honor and I am so proud to know that my child will be serving with them

Me neither.  It's hard, but I know that they (our kids) are taking care of each other.  I have to believe that!  I also have to remember that, not so many years ago, parents didn't have this blessing that we do of being able to hear news through each other.  Thank you for your kind thoughts and I agree wholeheartedly.  :)

Does anybody else have a recruit in this division that is going to Pensacola FL for school after PIR?  That is where my son will be going for schooling he is going to be a CTT.  I can't wait until PIR It is really hard not being able to pick up the phone and talk to my son but I know he is probably making it better than I am. I think they keep them so busy with training that they don't have time to think about anything else.  Maybe that much awaited phone call will come in a few days.

Hi. My son will also be going to Pensacola!

Hey dereksmom21 my son is going to Pensacola.  He is going to be AW and I can totally relate how you feel about not being able to call him.  It is going to awesome at PIR and it can not get here soon enough.  Maybe our sons are becoming buddies

Our son is also going to train in Pensacola.  His training should last at least 14 weeks.  He is going to be in IT.

I was just wondering if we can bring my sons cellphone to PIR.  I was watching the video from the Rear Admiral and she said that we could give it back to them after the ceremony but I don't want to get him in trouble.  I could have misunderstood because I still can't get through alot of this without crying hopefully that will get better

tylersmom, Not sure about the cell phone to PIR, kind of doubt that would be a good idea.  For example, I think anything you bring them cannot go back to base with them.  You can, however, go to the airport to see them off and give them a bag to take with them to school.  I plan to pack my son's electronics, some clothes he set aside, and whatever else he may let me know of that he needs/wants, barring what they are not supposed to have.  tylersmom, WfdMary,  and dereksmom, my son is also going to Pensacola!  As far as I know he'll be AE.

I was just on the facebook page of the recruit training command looking at the random photos.  The pictures from April 17th my son is there, I am so happy to see him.  I printed them out so when I start getting alittle down I have them to look at.  I can hardly wait til PIR to see him in person, I am one happy mama!!!!!!

Got my letter! Looks like he wrote Thursday before bed and Sunday during the day. He said they could call anytime between "0600 and 2200" lol so to make sure to always have my phone! Sundays they can do whatever they want between a certain time. He said he took a thirty minute shower and it felt "uuhhhmazing" As of Sunday they had 30 more days of training then not much for 9 days. Our division is one of the first's to do BattleStations so they have to wait til the rest of the divisions are finished. Thats why they don't do much for 9 days.

Got my letter today also--  He sounded so much better in this letter than his first letter. He had to have his wisdom teeth pulled and made it through just fine and he got to relax for a couple of days in his rack while he recovered from having his teeth pulled.  I can't wait to get that phone call my phone doesn't leave my side.  Has anybody else's recruit said anything about doing their first swimming or PFA test yet. Just wondered how that went for them.

I got my letter today too.  My son also had to have wisdom teeth pulled.  My SR said that they had done the swiming and PFA and told me his results but didn't mention how they did as a team.  I hope that they all did great. My son seemed a little more homesick in his letter than what he had been before, he wants me to come to PIR so bad that he is willing to pay for the plane ticket...no way I could refuse to come see him.  So I guess that I need to book plane tickets and do the hotel search.  If we are going to meet as a group the night before let me know and I will try to make it up there in time.  I am actually going to fly into Indianapolis and pick up grandma so that she can come too.
