Anybody else have a son/daughter is this division?  Can't wait to go to PIR on June 1st

We got a letter today as well. Wasn't very long but at least he wrote to us.  He said bootcamp over all isn't too bad except for the days that the whole division gets in trouble and yelled at because of some people not doing what they were told to do. He said that it will start getting better though.

JakesWife-- We live about 3 1/2 hours south of Chicago where do you live?

WOW is this a small world or what!  I was also stationed at Chanute (and my husband) 24 years ago...maybe we know each other. I was at Chanute from Dec 1987 to Apr 1988. I too spent several of my weekends in Champaign, but since I was from Indiana I was allowed to drive home almost every weekend once we got privilages.

I got my letter, the wonderful ladies at my post office called and let me know that it had arrived. It was so good to hear from my SR, he sounds like he is in pretty good spirits.

I was in weather school and my husband was in electronics...lord help me but I just can't remember which barracks we were in or what the names of the schools were...I think my brain has its own FIFO system and a lot of that information has gone out now.  My memories of Chanute are mixed...that was where my husband and I met, but the weather and the frozen morning marches and all the studing were rough.

My son isn't a big writer either, but I got a 2 page letter...he said that there had been a few problems with the division and that as a group they had to do mountain climbers.

we live in a really small town about 35 miles west of Springfield

Yes I knew about the facebook page and I keep looking to see if I can spot my son but so far no such luck but I will keep trying to find him a one of the pictures.

I live in Louisiana...so I too hope my letter gets here tomorrow. We have a small post office and one of my friends is the post master, when my form letter came she called me at 7:30am so that I could come pick it up.  I will tell her to be on the lookout.

I live in Pennsylvania and I am hoping I get my letter soon.  I have each day marked off on my calendar 15 days and counting.  I can't wait til PIR !!!!!! I will be going along with his dad and sister.  I am sooo grateful for all the information I am getting here Thank you all so much it is making this so much easier

WfdMary,  Have you heard from your boy?  Gotten letters?  We are in Texas as well, and last Thursday we did receive an envelope with several letters he had written!  Phone call the same day, but only one home was our other son...still it was great for them to talk!  Hoping you have heard news.  :)

Thanks now I can hardly wait to get to home to my mailbox.  Hopefully my letter will be there, I am so happy for everyone who got a letter from their recruit.  Keeping my fingers crossed : /

WOOHOO I am doing the happy dance.....I got my letter today and I am so relieved to hear that my son is adjusting.  I know it is hard but he is doing just fine.  For the parents who did not get their letters yet they are on the way.

I still haven't received any news from him personally.  I read these posts every day hoping to catch a smidgen of news of anything having to do with his division.  Just to know anything at all would help me even to direct my thoughts and prayers for him.  I know "our" kids are learning to depend on each other, and I have tears in my eyes thinking about how much your kids, by now, must mean to my son.  Bless them all!

A letter for Mom/Dad and older brother today.  Sounds so tired.  Hope he keeps his chin up.  Seems like they are being "beat up" a lot for the group not getting their act together.  I guess it is a good thing they don't let moms go with the kids to BC.  LOL.  This will make our son tougher!

Yes, dereksmom! My son is in this division!  I am like Charlie Brown checking the mailbox every day, but I keep telling myself no news is good news, and he's either too tired to write, or he's using any free time to socialize, because that's just how he is!  Love my boy, as I know all of us love our daughters/sons who are readying themselves for service.  God bless them all!  Thank you dereksmom for starting a group for us.  Ship 11, Division 168!!!!!
