For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 069 and 070.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

My son is on the same ship and division. We just got our first letter last week. My son is not the letter writer and I was really surprised. He sounded positive and commented that he really enjoyed the physical training time. He did say that they were busy all the time.

Hi. My son is on Ship 11, Div 069. We got our first letter(s) last week. He had time to write his dad, me and a 'girl' friend of his (her letter was 4 pages to my ONE page). I had to laugh. But I am very grateful she is willing to share it. He was upbeat. He talked about the food and how great it is, about the swim test and what an ordeal that is (one of those tests you must pass to stay in), about the "extreme" yelling, about the Sea Bag they have to haul around with about 100lbs, about the physical training and while it's really tough - it's one of the better things to be doing. He also talked about the shots and more specifically the "peanut butter" shot in the behind that made him butt hurt for a week! His sense of humor was very much in tact - talked about the sweats they had to wear the first week with bright lettering that called out they are NEW RECRUITS and he said "basically say, hey yell at me"! I had to chuckle. Still NO call and believe me - my phone is glued to me. His dad got another letter today (I am at work) and said that our son had been promoted!! I am SO excited and proud. I can't wait to tallk to him. Hang in there moms....

Shannon - I am so sorry! But remember, no news is generally GOOD news. If you haven't heard from him it should mean he is doing well. I know not hearing from him must be SO difficult - but the bright side is that so far he is passing everything!!! Hang in there. Keep writing - it helps. hugs to you.

My oldest son just called and read me the 4 page letter I got from my son today - he says they are supposed to get to make a call on WEDNESDAY (that's today moms). Let's hope and keep our fingers crossed. :-)

He called me about an hour ago now!!! Did you get a call?? They had 25 minutes to make calls. Did he have a calling card with him? I sure hope you got a call.

Received our first phone call. My son ( ship 11 div 69 ) seems well and said his division is finally working together!!

Hi Dana!! Wasn't it nice to get that call, finally?! Our sons are on the same ship. Have you made travel plans yet? It would be great to have moms to connect with when I get there. I feel so relieved to have heard his voice and know he is well. I'm sure you feel the same way. Hugs.

Got my first call about an hour ago!! My son is doing well, very happy to talk to me (he just lit up when I answered the phone). He said he is very homesick and the first week was so difficult; missing everyone, being so far away and getting yelled at all the time. He also said the sleep deprivation was the worst and made it all that much harder. I am so thankful for the call!!

We were able to talk to our son for 40 minutes! Best Christmas gift ever!

Got my call too! It was terrific and she sounded great. Funny stories, reality and good news about her position. All very cool and such a great call. She said it isn't that bad.....frustrated with some of the girls and a few other things but overall very positive. Said she has met amazing people and is enjoying getting to know shipmates.
