Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 185 and 186

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hey TXnavymom...I didn't see you RSVP yet to the Sarges Meet and Greet 05/09 at Sundance Saloon, wanted to be sure you were going to be there so we can meet..My son is ship 9 div 186.. his 1st name Jacob, said his bunkmate's name is Jacob too but doesn't know alot of his other div names cuz they go by last names..anyway, I'm sure your on the FB page for PIR 05.10 but I wanted to send you a friend request and also make sure you were going to Sarges..hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Michelle- his rate is IT- information system technician. He actually got two calls, one to me, and one to his wife, basically letting us both know what he needed, & the calls came in around 2:00 p.m. We were both surprised, yet over joyed to hear anything from him this soon. I hope you are able to hear from your son soon as well.

Wow Txnavymom, I'm so happy for you...I'll admit, a little jealous too, but very happy you got to hear from  your son. My son is also on Ship 11, Div 185/186 and he is also in IT, so much in common. He got to RTC on the 14th and besides the 42 second call I got at 3 am, I have received his box, and the form letter a few days ago, but no other phone call. Your post gives me such hope that perhaps I'll get a call from him Saturday. I can't wait to hear his voice. He's 20 yrs old and he is me and my husbands only child. So, we're just itchin to hear anything albeit a phone call (hopefully) or a letter (doubtfully, but I'm still hoping).. at any rate we're very proud of him and miss him terribly. If it wasn't for our family, friends and our church I think we'd both have been baker-racked in a padded room somewhere, lol.. Seems like we all have so much in common ladies. I can't wait to meet you all, the moms, dads, wives, girlfrieds... all the loved ones on this site who will have a Sailor graduating on May 10th, that can't seem to get here quick enough. Best wishes to you all!! I'm praying we all get phone calls soon. See you all in person at PIR or meet & greet, and I'm sure we'll talk more and share more experiences til then and even after. Even though we have yet to meet I count you all as my friends and confidants, going thru same thing I am, and understanding the emotions like noody else can, even family members don't get it. But ya'll do. Talk to you soon and praying for our phone calls.

Your post is tugging at my heart strings... I will be praying that you receive a phone call or letter soon from your son. I joined a Facebook group for our PIR date (if your on Facebook, just type in PIR 05-10-13 TG #26 11 divisions, and it will pop up). There were a lot of post today from those that were receiving letters, so hopefully our time will come very soon. I too am so thankful for this site, and for all the support everyone is providing for one another. Can't imagine going through this without you all!

Thanks again TXnavymom'13, I'll be sure and do that, the more info I get from hearing others experiences the more hopeful and happy I get. It truly makes me happy to read everyone's posts about receiving news from their loved ones, these are all treasured moments that I can't wait to experience. Again, thank you for the wonderful advise, I feel so blessed to have met such wonderful friends here.

God Bless!

Thanks for the FB info, really appreciate it!!

My son ios also Ship 11 Div 185. Hope the guys have met each other.  Waiting for PIR is ..... well let me just say that I pray for strength, guidance and PATIENCE each day.  Best to your sailor and to your family.  My son is also Christopher  :-)

Heard from my son today (Division 186) and he is doing fine, except for a cough that he says just about everyone has. They took their swim test and initial PFT already. He did good on both but wants to improve on the PFT as there are 2 more that is scheduled.

He told me that he is in Ship 9 not 11. Is anyone else aware of this move?

ME again.... they moved from ship 11 to ship 9 due to repairs/remodeling.   Wasn't that the best voice you have ever heard ? I miss my son so much.

Hello Navy moms!! Greetings from Phoenix, AZ!! I was wondering if anyone else has a SR in Ship 09 Div 185? Our SR left Phx on March 14 and we just received our first (and extremely quick) call from him today! We haven't received our form letter yet but we keep checking the mail everyday like crazy people! Hopefully you have received your letters and phone calls too! This website has been fantastic and I look forward to meeting other moms! Can't wait for PIR 5/10!!!!

That's great news Michelle! We didn't have a chance to hear details about our son's time so far... he was able to give us his ship/div info and that was it so we are looking forward to his letters to know more.  I can't imagine how quickly colds spread through there once one SR comes down with something, sounds like it passes to everyone else pretty quickly.. hopefully your son and everyone else feels better soon! That's interesting that the form letter listed a different ship, you are the second mom that's told me that tonight. Guess it's a good thing we got his call before the form letter so that we have the correct info... still waiting impatiently for our form letter though lol.

My boyfriend is also on Ship 9 Division 185.  I got a quick phone call from him tonight as well. I know that we received his Form letter last Monday. We are in Texas.
