For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

No, I didn't know it was Navy Day ! Hooyah ! My son sent us three letters last week. They all arrived on my birthday ! Yea!
He always writes his on Navy stationary/envelopes which I think they get for free.
It's a beautiful sunny day here in southern Wisconsin. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. :)

They only allow them so many envelopes and stamps. I guess when they run out of them they have to fall back on family. I don't know but if he needs it I will send it. Lol

Hey all,
I have been doing so well with my boyfriend being at bootcamp, but it seems that now with only a month to go, I cannot stop myself from breaking down. I am in college and sadly missed both of his only calls that he believes he can have so far. I keep having to listen to those dreadful voicemails of him choking up and saying how much he loves and misses me. I can barely keep myself together writing this. I am just wondering how I can get through this any easier? I also am wondering if anyone finds themselves in my same situation, completely a mess missing your loved one at bootcamp. I just am struggling trying to concentrate and enjoy my time studying at college without him able to be here to hug and kiss me when I need it most. I just love and miss him so much. Please, I just need a little help or encouragement right now.

Yes it will get easier! Once boot camp is over you will be able to to call, text, email, skype and at least have contact with him to some degree! We are all in this together and you are welcome to come here and scream/cry/laugh/throw things whatever you need and we'll support you all the same! Your navy family will be here for you! :)

I go through that too. My SR is my oldest child so everybody said it would be easier because I still have a child at home. If this is easy I hate to see what hard is!! But through this site, and family and friends I have found a lot of support. The ladies on here have always been there when I am down and depressed. Just remember our motto STAY STRONG!! We are a team just like our SR' s. PIR will be here before you know it!!

It will all work out Kristen. It is very normal to feel what you are feeling. We all have our good days & bad. It probably doesn't help when you hear his messages and he is so homesick for you. You have to be strong for him ! He's in BC with a bunch of guys/girls and all they do is train train train. You are out in the world and he may be envious and worried you'll forget him while he's gone. Write him positive and encouraging letters. Boost him up !
I get more & more anxious sometimes because it is getting so close to PIR. Can't wait to see my "baby" (Don't tell him I wrote that....)

We have the same feelings Kirsten i received letters from my SR last week and its his worst letters , he wanted to come back home , they might hold him back for 2 weeks. I don't yet . I'm having anxiety attack, cannot concentrate and worried about my son. I missed him so much

Check the date of your sons letters? I do remember when we first got a phone call he was SO HOME SICK that he started tearing up and hated it! But we encouraged him to stay focused and remember the reason he was their! IT WILL get better!
Now he says that it is better but he still misses home and so do everyone else here and that keeps him going because he doesn't feel alone!!! They help each other out!
I hope you get better news soon! Will keep you and your son in my prayers for better results! Hang in there hawaiian mom!
