Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 339 and 340

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Well it is only a little over two weeks left. Does anyone know when they will go from a recruit to a Sailor?

Can't wait to hear that!

Welcome to our group fairhopedaisy62!!! We are small, but mighty :). Great to have a new Mom on board! As for letters, I only have the two & a survey response, so I wouldn't worry too much - it sounds like you guys made contact & he is doing well!
Just an FYI team, that I had a heads up from a current sailor that as a push division, we might not get the call - which would really suck, but I guess the 'making it' is the most important thing! I am trying to prepare myself for that possibility, so thought I would mention it here.........

What is a push Division? Thank you for welcoming me in!

It is nice to be a part of the families here. Just as our sons and daughters have to encourage each other so should we. I hope we do get the call! I am on edge waiting.

I'm new here and have been following along and I would just like to say, My daughter cried once when she felt like she was letting her team down in week 1, since then she cried another time and that's when another S.R.'s feelings were hurt!!!! So they do care about each other and there is no reason for us here to be bad mouthing anyone! Were all in this together!!!!! Thank you for letting me vent :)

My daughter is in 339, I was reading about some calling someone else annoying and it bothered me cause my daughter said there was some of that going on the first 2 1/2 weeks she was there:(

I must have missed this too? I feel like we have all been very friendly & supportive?
Ditto Donna :)

Welcome angeleys!  I must have missed something as well.  We have an awesome and very supportive group here.  Are you planning to attend Sarge's Meet and Greet Thursday evening! Looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the families from 339/340!

Yes I will be attending with my younger daughter who is almost 17 and is also planning on joining just not sure what branch yet, and my mom also will be attending too, we are driving from california on 9-2-13. Can't wait to meet other mom's and families :)

Don't worry everything will be alright with your daughter. My son is in div 340 and if you could have known him , he was very timid and shy, but i am sure he is not now. He said that he is okay mentally and physically. When he called home he said he was home sick and i am sure at that time he wondered why he had joined. But he is off to new adventures as so is your daughter. It is funny that the Petty Officers are now there Mother, Father, Teachers. Remember when we use to tell them when to get up, eat, and brush their teeth. We will continue praying for all of them to be a team.

Good Morning Everyone,

I am super proud and excited and looking forward to Sept 6. I received a 4th letter from my daughter yesterday and couldn't be more proud than ever. She passed the shooting test with sharpshooter ribbon. She passed her 3 inspections with 2 being perfect scores of 5.0 and the 3rd with a 4.9 score. She said out of 1000+ recruits, 2 are selected from each division to interview with senior chief & chiefs. And out of the 30 they interviewed, 6 are selected to win superior sailors awards. My daughter won an award and will be in the newspaper and get announced at graduation. She then ends the letter by saying all thanks to me for raising her to always do her best and that she loves me and hope I'm proud of her.  I am EXTREMELY PROUD. Can't wait to see her. Just had to share my happiness at this moment.
