Son left 12/5/11.  Just received the form letter.  He's Ship 12 Div 058. PIR 2/3/12.  Got a very short note saying the Petty Officers were killing them.  That was alarming, but then at the end, his usual sarcasm of "I'm alive so stop freaking out."  That made me feel much better.  Anyone else??????

Anybody still sending mail?

I am still sending mail.I guess they will send it back or maybe they will forward it.

my sons girlfriend Sabrina sent him a collage that would only fit in a very large envelope when it arrived a the RTC the chief petty officer made my son open it in front of him and then my son had to show it to his division. he wrote Sabrina telling her to please send regular envelopes from now on .I sent one with some cologne he use to wear they probably had a field day with that! LOL.

Just dropped a letter off at the Post Office 5 min ago! I think I'll keep sending until Saturday. How about everyone else?

I was wondering that too. I don't know when to stop sending them. I send one everyday. I figure it takes about a week to get to them. Give or take. So if I send my last one on Thursday then he should have it right before his graduation. I think that's my plan. Thursday will be my last one.

my son is in this division, and of course graduates on Friday Feb.3.he is my only child and I miss him terribly. But we are very proud of him.

Hi everyone ,my name is Erin I am from Alvarado ,Texas. My son grew up here and this is his first time away from home.

My son David is graduating on Friday with the rest of his division. I am unable to attend for various reasons ,but his friend /girlfriend will be going with her brother .I told her about the green scarf or being from Texas she could wear a green bandanna(but she probably won't).I am sick about not being able to go ,But I know he will be thrilled to see her .I hope he has made some good friendships in his division .He told me he will be an aircrewman . PROUD! just very proud. (not yelling ,just very excited)! LOL.

I have had one phone call this last Saturday lasted for about 5 minutes. but he sounded sad .that makes my heart ache .I have been writing him letters everyday .I keep telling him just wait till you get to PCola ..your gonna love it there ! I miss my boy !

Hi Erin,

I went to Walgreens they have plenty of green scarves cheap too. I'm from Texas too woot woot!!!  I'm sorry you wont be attending, but thank God his brother & girlfriend will be going.

Did he say anything about Battle Stations? Wow your the 2nd person from our Div. who got a call. Do you want me to add you to our F.B.? Here's my full name add me so I can add you to our group12/058.  We have daily conversations and great support. Is your son and girlfriend gonna be at the Meet&Greet on Thursday? Here's my F.B.info Cindy Vasquez Schroeder.

Oh good I will tell her about walgreens .I need to make a correction from my post the brother belongs to the girlfriend Sabrina .My son is an only child which is really tough on all of us !

No he said nothing about battlestations he does no even know what PCola will be like .I think he is afraid it will be just like boot camp .I talked to his friend yesterday who is stationed at San Diego for sonar school .The friend said he loves it and to tell my son he will love it too .The friend said I have to go now ,I am going to the beach with my friends ! YAY! so I sat down and wrote a letter to my son and told him it will be great when he gets to PCola .still lots of hard work but with more access to the smaller things in life :-).

Oh Sabrina has to work thursday she is leaving at 7 am friday morning to fly out .She is going to be late but she will at least get to spend some time with him .

sure I would love to join your FB page !

Something to look forward to .I know he is homesick .he grew up here in Alvarado from the age of 1.we have never been apart. I hope other moms get calls .I know he said he had to go because another guy was waiting to use the phone .I cannot wait until he gets his cell back! this picture was at his BBQ party they day b4 he left for boot camp .
