OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED.  Vaccinations still required.

**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Yeah.....we are moving forward now.  My son started his school yesterday and we have a date for that graduation.  April 9!  Can't wait.

Alicia, sorry I didn't answer your question.  My son is there to be a CTN.  or learn to be a CTN.  I'm not quite whether he will BE that or doing that. CTN I mean. lol

Kim when that storm hit Denver were you watching the news and thinking "that storm better not hit Chicago!"  LOL I was!  I was tickled pink when the weather man said it was headed to the deep south.  Made my day. lol

my son is freezing at GL...but I am so pleased the mild weathe we encountered while there:) he did say he was jealous of his ship mates that went to warm places
he is on hold for his actual schooling

My son found free wifi at the P-EX in San Antonio. Says its a long walk though, but everything is a long walk since his dorm is the farthest away from everything. :)

I'm so glad too that we had PIR last week! We had great weather. I saw pics from friends who were at PIR this week and the snow was falling sideways! Snow, wind, and cold is NOT my idea of a good time! :)
