While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

im wondering if anyone know what happens at graduation! if you have questions ask, any info is appreciated!

do you get to see them and greet them at the graduation or do they have to get leave first?
are there rules for the girlfriends, like do's and dont's.? i have herd that when girlfriends go up to visit, they cannot hold hands with you and you can only lock arms, and you must stay on his left side so that when he has to salute his arm is free. is this all true?

YES! PDA - Public Displays of Affection are a BIG no-no! I was a Marine wife for over 16yrs and 2 kids active duty now (both born at Camp Lejuene, NC). Save the romance for privacy. Read the family guide, www.bootcamp.navy.mil, its in there.

ive never been big on PDA i always thought it was trashy and still do. But i do hold his hand 99 perecnt of the time. so thats not allowed? :(

and at graduation can i go up and hug him? or is that a no no ?

follow his lead. if he takes your hand, its ok. but if he suddenly lets go, dont get upset. let him hug you. . . some actions are permissable by spouses not girl/boyfriends
somewhere i read that we have to leave the building after graduation and they have to meet us at the gate. should be interesting lol

As soon as the ceremony is over they will announce "Liberty Call". Then there is a mad rush for everyone to find their Sailor. Some bring binos to find them from the stands! Or your camera might have a great zoom!
You've got about 10-15 minutes to leave the PIR hall...they start turning off the lights to let you know.
Those that have immediate liberty may leave with you right away (those Sailors attending "A" school anywhere other than Great Lakes Naval Station)...you an go to the NEX (may be crowded...there are more at the Main base)...most likely your Sailor will want to GET OFF BASE though!
Those that have "A" school at Great Lakes Naval Station have a brief time with you (if even that) and have to leave you to go move over there. This will take about 3-5 hours. When they are done they will call you to pick them up. So make sure they have a working calling card. (they cannot have their cell phones right away. They will let you know when they can take it back to Base. Those going back to RTC and then leaving may not have their cell phones either...you can give it to them at the airport the next morning if you go to meet them there...otherwise you will have to mail it to them.)
