dose anyone know the colors for 12/074???

I hsave not seen one posted yet, I think we should just pick one and spread the word? I've seen one division chose green, so that is out.  How about red. let me know and we can spread the word and let our SR know, so they can spot us.

I agree! I have not seen anyone comment on colors.  I have not heard what their division flag looks like, so not much help with getting color ideas from that.  I'm okay with red because it will match what I am wearing.  I have ordered ribbons with the division number on it.

I agree! So red it is?

I think Ship 12 Div 074's flag and "nickname" is something to do with Chatterbox's....the little wind up gum & teeth thing....LOL..... It may have something to do with them always getting in trouble for talking!! Hahaha....I will get some red scarves.....I already bought some Blue & Gold Navy ones, like the kind they wear at the Army/Navy game, but we can wear both!! I am soooo excited!! Less than 2 weeks!! HOOYAH!!!

o yea i forgot my husband did say it has the chatterbox on it...isnt the chatterbox thing red? so that would be perfect! 11 more days and 14 hours!!!!

Okay, I'm in for red and I really have to laugh about the Chatterbox thing. Funny on two levels: my son is one of the older recruits and a Navy Brat himself and he was telling us in the first letters & phone call, that they just don't shut up! LOL! and the whole pulling of the wisdom teeth might have been considered!  Maybe they had the most teeth pulled. I think it is just really funny!   I am also going to have a cowbell for the end of the ceremony. When he was playing HS sports I always had a cowbell so he knew where I was. Once they are dismissed, I will be ringing that bell!

Yes, everyone for 12/074 will sit in a certain section directly in front of our Sailor's. I got this info from one of the veteran mom's and I think I saw it posted somewhere else. I am also going to be wearing a blue ribbon with last name and 074 on it. I will find a red scarf somewhere. It may just be a scarf that you would wear to keep warm & not necessarily as an accessory to what I will be wearing.

jlvk, you didn't mention what airline you checked. Here in the Norfolk area the common carrier for gov't is Delta, but they also use United. I looked at flights from ORD to San Antonio and it hurt my head. The two cheapest flight seem to be US air and American or Delta. The US air/American leaves before 6 a.m.! I'm just going to wing it. Our return flt is currently Sunday. If we find he is on a really early flight, we will try to change our tickets and fly home Sat. My husband flies to Korea the morning of the 20th.

how do u know what airport he is flyin out of?

Does anyone know if you need have to have insurance on a rental car if that is what we are driving to PIR?

If your personal car insurance covers rental cars, then no. It does not have to state on the rental agreement that you took out the rental car company insurance. At the Naval Base in Norfolk all you do is show the agreement and your drivers license. I would guess they are all the same.
