Your post seems exact to what I would put about my son. He was very active, except for swimming and graduated in 08. I too have only received one short letter. Would be funny if they were close. Seems to have a bit in common.

Hi My son is 18 and next Friday he will be 19. He is my Christmas baby and I haven't received any phonecalls either. I sit and stare at my phone all day long. It's almost like waiting for them to be born you just can't wait to hear from them to make sure they are ok.He did write one letter and said he was doing ok and that training was intense but he thinks he'll be ok. I miss him so much. He is such a positive kid and he loves to sing Christmas songs. He has such an amazing voice but I bet he would never let the guys know that. That he saves for home and church. Whenever I go Wednesday nights to church I feel his presence so strongly I can hardly breathe, especially when they sing his favorite song The Heart of Worship.

Good morning ladies!!! I hope everyone is doing well. I am so thankful for N4M and the RTC facebook it has helped me so much! I know I haven't posted much, I'm always busy reading!

Here is all my info: We live in Oklahoma, my son just graduated high school this past May, he is still 18. He joined back in March, he is going to be an AE or AT (not sure when that will be decided or by whom). We do plan on attending graduation however, due to my husband being off work so much due to a couple of surgeries we will be driving and I haven't booked a room yet so I really have no details on that! Feel free to ask if I've left anything out!

Oh yea, our journey so far, he left the 21st from OKC, I received the  "I'm here" call at 1:38am, received his box on Friday the 25th, his form letter Saturday the 3rd, and first (very short) real letter Thursday the 8th.

He didn't have much in the letter other than he was still in P-days and they were going to give him one job but then changed their minds after seeing his handwriting (its awful)! Of course then he failed to tell me what his new job is. He has never been one to be an open book so between that and the awful handwriting I'm afraid I'm not going have alot of info.

Mindy, David's recruiter said there were several different services, (Catholic, Protestant, etc) they could attend, depending on their faith.  Other than that I don't know.

I also heard about the immature ones so I think we are safe to say our young men were not involved. I was hoping that was the case. I too hope we get a phone call real soon.

Hello all and greetings from upstate NY!  My 18 year old son is in 12/049....other than the form letter we've received just one letter...Brian said he's actually "having fun"...I"m not worried about him TOO much...he's a long distance runner and and Eagle Scout so he has been well prepared for this!  Was curious if anyone else will be attending the meet and greet at the Ramada on Thurs nite???

Hello Etrabucco,

So glad to hear your son is enjoying BC.  I am hoping to be at the meet and greet, but we're driving up from Arkansas that day, so it's a wait and see how wore out we are.

Happy Monday Y'all!!!!  Have a great day:))))

thats wonderful news!! Glad to hear he is doing well! I know I keep on waiting for that phone call myself. Hopefully as they get to know one another everything will fall into place.

Well, I received another letter from my son yesterday. He too says keep the letters coming. He did mention that he felt bad for the ones that have not received any mail yet. I am planning on asking for the names or ask my son what would be easier for me to do. I would like to see every man get a card at least for the holidays.

My son also said that they have had IT (intensive training) but he doesn't mind as much because it is a bad a__ workout!! He always loved his intense workouts. He was always real small in school then he structured a workout for himself with a strict diet and was amazed at how great he looked and felt. I am very proud of him for all of his hard work. I know that they will all start working together. I just hope it is soon!!! Have a blessed day everyone!!

My son was overweight when he decided to join . They asked him to lose 30 lbs and he lost 60 . He just stayed on track and ate what he needed and worked out intensely. He joined the Y got a bus pass so he could exercise as much as possible and went everyday. I am so proud of my son. I was amazed and said I need to do this so I loss 20 lbs too but still need to lose a lot more. Kids are amazing . I love to watch them when they set a goal. It is so breathtaking when they get there.

I wrote to my other son's writing teacher and asked him to ask the kids to write a letter to the kids that didn't receive letters. One of them may be my son even though we sent about 20 letters allready. I hope we have the right address. I think he wrote the correct address. Any way I want to make sure none of them feel lonely!!!
