We are from Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I'm so glad I found all of you but I'm looking for help. I haven't received the form letter or a personal letter with his official ship/div. Is anyone else experiencing this? I called his recruiter on Monday and he gave me the ship 12/div 167 but now I'm wondering if that's right. Help!
Got a GREAT, uplifting letter. My SR ( 24 yr old son) says he is enjoying it. Made me feel sooooo good!!! Now my husband feels so much better :)
I'm so happy for you! I'm hoping and praying that I get one today or tomorrow. It's brutal just waiting for some contact!!!
My son is also 24. He thought he was one of 2 of the "older ones. My son also said he was enjoying it. And thanked me for teaching to pay attention to details. hahahah I told him he would need it one day.
My son is 21 and I thought he would be the old man. He told me in his letter that they actually have a 38 year old guy in their division! I didn't realize you join join at that age.
Janeleg, I wonder if your son was referring to my son when he thought he was one of 2? That would be cool!
I think he said it was his bunk mate who is also the Post office person? Could that be your son? I know he said he thinks they will be life long friends.
Alemap- I don't think that my son is the post office person. He was the AROC, the last letter I received and he designed the flag for our division.
I did receive 2 letters from my son, but I have yet to receive the form letter. I am so happy I found this forum, I have been looking for days.
Glad you could join us, Roxanne.  We received or 1st real letter Thursday, too.
Hi everybody! Got my first 3 page letter (that's a big deal my son is  man of few words) on Friday, then got a phone call yesterday! I feel like a new woman! He sounds great, although I was surprised to learn that they extracted 2 wisdom teeth this past week! The Navy doesn't mess around!
Great, Janeleg!  I know it made me feel like a million $$$ to hear from mine!
