my son and I have being skyping, texting or calling each other almost every night since he left for A school. He is so happy with everything, that makes it life good here.I am hoping to see him in sometime in July.He has changed so much and I could not be prouder! The PIR was so incredible,I could hardly contain myself. My little girl is so proud of him and now looks up to him more now than ever. She kept hugging me during the PIR and saying "happy hugs!"I thought she was going to cause me to fall off those bleacherss when we finally got to find our sailor, she was leaping down the bleachers, not using the steps. That would have took u.s longer to find him..lol.

My daughter called today she will start School tonight. Looks like she pulled
the night classes. Hope she doesn't have to get up at 4:45 AM.
Character Building, as Mama C says.

He was talking about going to a game, I will have to ask him?

They must be in the same ship. He didn' happen to go to Chicago to a Cub's game
on Sun? She went to the game with 5 other Sailors and said they had lots of fun. Got in free because they were military.

Not sure where the water came from but it was no drill. Good experience though.
Comment by jdmom on May 23, 2011 at 8:58pm
CRSmom my son is in GL waiting also OS and he posted a comment about the SHIP leaking and being in water...I wonder if they are together?  Did your daughter say it was a drill or they really had a flood?
Comment by CRSmom on May 23, 2011 at 7:19pm
Yes indeed! They even got a chance to practice what they learned. Seems
their "Ship" sprung a leak and there was 8 inches of water on lower level so they had to gear up and keep the "ship" from sinking. She said it was really neat to see how they all worked together as a team operating just as they were taught.
Character Building, yes indeed ;)
