Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 023 & 024

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My husband probably would have to have me committed, if I missed a call from my daughter, cause id have a nervous breakdown for sure! LOL

Hello, I sent you a Friend Request.

I think my niece is friends with your daughter.  I saw the username you had and she said her last name.

I am the happiest mom right now!!! I got a letter!!! He is doing so good! He said the two divisions haven't been getting along to well and they have gotten in trouble for that. He was excited that he finally had real dog tags and his uniform. Lol. (He has always wanted dog tags)! He wrote the letter on the 20th and said that Monday, the 22nd would be week 1 day 5. I'm thinking that is a mistake and it was week 2 day 5. Did anybody else find out? He wants me to find a theater close by so he can see Red Dawn on liberty. That is how I know he's great, he's worried about a movie! Lol. I hope you all get a letter today!!!!
That's great, Hunter's Mom, glad you got a letter. I got mine yesterday and felt the same way. My Kyle (also 023) didn't mention the two groups not getting along, that's too bad. They'd best learn now to! Mine said his boots are killing his feet, but that "going to Medical" will end your career. I don't know if that is really true or they just want them to think that.
1 sailor 1 marine. My fiance in 021 said the same thing about medical. When I got his letter lat week he said hes had a cold since he arrived but he refused to go to medical. He said thats a50% chance of going home

I have 1 sailor and 1 marine as well! Congrats to you!

I don't see how it can be productive to be so hard-line on this. If your guy could just get some attention and get well it would be better for all concerned. Just don't understand some things about the military...

They are just trying to break our guys. They make them scared, make them feel like their not doing good enough. But its because thats how they are suppose to treat them. Once everything is done with, the guys/girls will be transformed into sailors. Or atleast thats how i look at it.

Hi!  I received my first letter yesterday from my son Matt!!  I was so happy to hear from him!  There were actually 3 letters in the envelope & he started off by saying that he missed me.  awe...   Sounds like he's doing good & that I should expect a call next Monday the 29th.  He also said Sunday was the first time they got some "free" time so that was good!  Didn't mention that the 2 groups were not getting along...  Hopefully everything is ok there. Little concerned because he hadn't received my letters but received 2 from his grandma!!  Don't know where mine are!  I sent one on the 15th right after I got the form letter & the other a few days later.  Not sure how often they get mail.  Anyway,  hope everyone gets their letter soon!

GOT A LETTER TODAY!!!   She was made Div Yeoman.  Her first letter was very up beat.  But the one she wrote Sunday, not so much.  She says she needs all the prayers she can get.  Says they put her up front as an exampe in PT and not because she is good at it.  She says she has made new friends.  Only lists last names.  So, I will give only 1st 3 letters of last name.  If it might be your kid, message me.  Vec, Bar, Con, and Ill.  She also gave me a list of 5 SRs in Div 023 who did not get any mail.  If you would like to them, you can email me.

Woohoo! Got a letter today! So happy!
