Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Hi, I am aware of a "sarges meet and greet" on Thursday prior to PIR, but not positive as to the location. I am assuming that info is on the PIR 12/12 group page.

Hi all - I'm Raina. My son is in Div 43 and is also a nuke (is 43/44 a nuke div???). Haven't been on the past couple days. Just now got to see this discussion page.
VERY sorry to hear that some of you missed your call. I know exactly how you feel... I missed mine, too. Thinking it was a telemarketer (why on a Saturday, IDK) I hesitated and missed it. By time I thought that it might be my son, I couldn't push the right button fast enough. To see me and hear me react, you'd swear that I just witnessed my dog get hit by a car or something! I WAILED for an hour followed by bouts of uncontrollable sobbing for the rest of the day.
I'll be sure to check here, especially on Saturdays to see if any of you are hearing from your recruit. I will NOT miss another call! A friend of mine remembers her boy calling on Saturdays as well, maybe there's something to that...
Stay strong everyone. I say this to myself as well. The first week or so wasn't that bad as he's been away to camp for that long. Now, it's getting hard. I miss him so very much.
I'll be sure to pray for my son's new family members, 043 & 044, that they remain strong of heart and body, that they work together to do their very best...
maybe they'll earn some extra phone privileges ;-)

My son is in 43 and a nuke. I missed the call too. I was just taking a walk around the neighborhood-so much for exercise being good for you! We have reservations at the Holiday Inn Expressin Waukegan. They have a shuttle service to the PIR.

Hi everyone! While I don't have a recruit going through this with yours, I did have one go through it in 2010 - he's still in and very happy with his decision to join. I'm here to support my friend Rho, who has a son going through this with all of your recruits; and am happy to help and support you all in any way I can. I remember missing phone calls, and not getting information from my son - this site is sooo good for those days. All I can recommend is lean on each other for support and information. If you hear something special, good or bad, share it with the group!

I am so sorry to hear he is sick and not doing too well:( As if we moms didn't have enough to worry about just missing them, etc. My son told me that they don't get in trouble for going to medical, like I thought. He has an infected/ingrown toe nail, and said they weren't upset about him getting help at all. (I hope he is right about that).

Hi there SkramTam and Ktsmom96. They won't get into trouble for going to medical. When my son went through he had to go for a bad ear infection, they gave him meds and was fine. You don't want them to suffer through if they are sick, that could actually delay them if they are too sick to complete their tests, etc. Hope they are all feeling better soon!!!

Hi LadyDi,
Thanks for the information. We had heard horror stories about them going to medical and getting pushed back because of it. He went on his own for his infected toe, they prescribed antibiotics and put him on a modified light duty where he does what everyone else does, just not the marching, he just walks instead. Glad he is not suffering needlessly:)
