For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 13 (USS Marvin Shields) Division 079 and 080 (Brother Divisions)

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 079 and 080

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

My son is one of the older recruits. He is 25. It's nice to meet some of the moms of the recruits in my son's DIV.

Sorry did not get a call today (sun.) got a call on fri night. He said that they are going to be moving a lot faster so he's not sure when the next time he can call. I'm just happy that I have heard from him this far. Since he said in the beginning that he was only allowed 3 calls!! I'll take what I can get!

I received a call from my son on Friday afternoon. He is a Yeoman for 79. I, sadly, will not be able to make it for PIR. I'm in Texas, travel cost are too much in too short a period of time. He will be at the A school in GL. I planned to attend his graduation from A School.

My son is also a Yeoman for this same DIV. I never received a call yesterday nor today so far. Really bummed.

ChristiMom, I wonder if my son was referring to your son, when I spoke to him on Friday. He said that he and the other Yeoman had to finish up all the recruits paperwork before they could make their phone calls.

That is odd then. I wonder why my son didn't get his call unless time was up before he got to a phone. Thank you so much for this information. It means a lot.
