Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 313 and 314
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!
My son is also Ship 13, Division 314. In his last letter he mentioned that orders were given for after PIR, but he had to stand watch and hadn't received his orders. He is supposed to I attend submarine training in Groton, CT. Anyone else's loved one heading to CT after PIR? If so, what day are they traveling from Great Lakes to Groton? Hoping to receive a letter from my son with information. If he isn't leaving right away, would love to spend more time with him.
I received a letter from my son today - yeah! Never thought getting a letter could make me smile so much. He is doing well but needs to finish his run 15 seconds faster to pass. He feels he can do it. I am praying and keeping my finger's crossed. Aside from the running, he is doing well. Just writes that the days are going by quickly.
I keep reading about door signs and table signs. What do I need to know? Any help would be appreciated.
My son most recent letter didn't mention the day and time he would be leaving for school after PIR on 10/3. Anyone's SR going to CT for submarine training? Do you know what day they leave for CT?
Belinda: Today is not my lucky day - no phone call from my son. The last call came the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend at around 7:30 p.m. I missed both of his calls. Still hoping he calls tonight. I still haven't spoken to him since he arrived in IL on the night of August 7th. Forty-five days without hearing his voice or seeing his smile. This is so hard.
For Ship 13, Division 314, I am beginning to think that the next call we will get is when our SR's pass Battle Stations and officially become Sailors. Their PIR is about ten days away. I hope my son passes everything. He will be devastated if he doesn't after working so hard.
I RSVP'd for Sarge's Meet and Greet on 10/2/14. I spoke to him this morning because I had a few questions about transportation. What a great man! He was so helpful and I could tell how much he enjoys what he does for military families. Can't wait to meet him in person.
has anyone gotten the parking/admit pass yet for your vehicle? I thought they said it would come in email about 11 days before to print out.
I guess we are all just waiting to hear whats next
I was able to print mine this afternoon
Sorry it was around 11 or so .. SHIP 13/ DIV 313
Hi Ladies - I have to confess that when I was first given the info about this website, I was hesitant to check it out. I am so happy that I not only checked it out, but became a participant. No one in my family has been in the military (except my father in WWII) and it's hard hearing everyone talk about their kids and their achievements when I have no idea what my son is doing or how he is doing. I guess I am a bit jealous that my friends can talk or text their kids that are away at college. I know that the military path is the right one for my son and although I support him 100%, the no contact part is very difficult. By going on this site and "talking" with all of you, I have received the emotional support that I cannot get from my family or friends. All of us are going through the same thing and being able to support each other when we are having a bad day or share a laugh is wonderful. I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through the last seven weeks without all of you. I hope that all of us get the "I'm a Sailor!" phone call next week and we can all relax a bit and enjoy the celebration on 10/3.
