While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Michigan. About a 5hr 50 minute drive, knowing me and how many bathroom stops I'll be taking, add another 30 minutes! lol!

Jennifer, We are driving from Minnesota. Maybe 7 hours or so. But, my husband and I can share the driving. We are leaving that thursday morning. I do daycare, but I took the days off. How do you like nannying?

It is very rewarding to work with kids. I assume that there are people that do daycare on base for enlisted. Either way, traveling to different areas will be an adventure with your BF.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this, so please bare with me. My son just sent us the letter with the info for graduation. I'm from California, not familiar with Chicago area. We are looking into booking our flight soon. Was wondering if anyone can tell me of the hotels that are closet to the recruit training center? He is ship 13 div 027. Are there any parents with a son/daughter in the same? Thanks.

We are staying at the Navy Lodge on base. I am guessing that is pretty close. Pull up the website fo rthe Navy Lodge in Geat Lakes for details. If you book there, you need to reserve under your sailor's name. There are other hotels too though. You'll have to see who else comments.

I'm staying at the Days Inn, it's right down the street from base. I google mapped "Great Lakes, IL" then googled "Hotels" and picked one that was close, and had good reviews. My bf is also ship 13/div 027.

My son is Ship 13 Div 27 as well. We are flying up from Florida. Booked at the Marriott.

I am very happy tonight. I finally received my form letter. I checked out the post date on it. It was mailed on the 12th and arrived on the 17th. That means 5 days, if he writes letters on Sunday, mails them Monday, then Saturday should be the day I receive letters. I have obviously thought about this a lot. I am a little excited.
