Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 421 and 422

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I will definitely be going to PIR. :)  I haven't purchased tickets yet, but probably will this week.  I think we will probably stay where we did last time at the La Quinta Inn in Gurnee.  It was very nice, had a nice breakfast in the morning, and in the same parking lot they had IHOP, Joes Crab Shack and Cracker Barrel.  I think it was about 7 miles from the base.

Good morning everyone!  I have a quick question regarding PIR.  I was told that the November 8 PIR will be wearing blue uniforms instead of white; can someone tell me what the blue looks like?  I'm just curious...thank you.

The blue uniforms are the winter uniforms. Dark Navy blue, with white trim and stars on the back collar.

Thank you BlueStarMomX2!

I just came across this slide show on here, not sure if anyone else had seen it so I thought I would share.  It was VERY helpful in understanding the ships and divisions and also where they are staying.

Hello Everybody.  It is very nice to see alot of moms from this division.  My son is JC (Joe Charles).  He is in Division 422 as well.  We are from Texas a small town about 60 miles north of Dallas.  Haven't gotten tickets yet, nor a hotel.  My husband is a coach, and isn't sure if he can get off on a friday.  So, kinda holding back on the tickets.  Really haven't decided what

airport to fly into from Dallas, and if there is a shuttle or bus that would take us to a hotel like the Navy Lodge.

I, too got a call saturday am.  Very emotional, but he said he really liked it, just hadn't heard a familiar voice.  He is the

youngest of our 4 children..so we all miss him like crazy, especially his 2 nephews and 3 nieces..waiting on that letter.

Hi!  My son in Richie, also division 422.  We just booked our flight out of albany, NY and will be staying in Navy Lodge.  I hope you'll be going to Sarge's meet and greet...I just RSVP'ed for my family.  How nice of him to do this for all the Navy families coming through there every week!!   Maybe we can meet each other

Yaaay My husband is in this group!!! His name is Marcio! I got two letters today from him and by the sound of it they are having more fun than I thought they'd be. He said they have started giving each other nicknames. So they are all doing good. Oh but they had gotten in trouble and had to do push ups for talking too much. I think that's what he said!!???!?? LOL

Hi everyone! My son Daniel is in division 422. We're from just north of Houston, Texas. Our tickets are booked and rooms reserved for PIR. I have had one phone call (last week) and one letter (yesterday) since he left. Funniest thing that he has told me so far is that the first PT sessions seemed like an 80s workout video. I still can't get the mental picture of them "sweatin' to the oldies" out of my head!

HI! My son, Richie is in division 422.  I haven't gotten a letter from him yet.  That is funny...I remember "sweatin' to the oldies" in fact, I used to do it in my parent's living room!  haha.  RSVP for meet and greet with Sarge?  If not, you should!  We will be there and look forward to meeting other parents and family from our particular Sailor's divisions!!  If you haven't there is a FB page...search PIR 11/08/13 I think.  There's also a link on here, I did have to search for it, though.  We are staying at Navy Lodge and flying in Thursday.

Hello all Div 421 & 422 moms and families!   We have booked our flight, rental car and hotel room at Navy Lodge, will be arriving on the 7th and leaving on the 9th.  I hope you guys will go to Sarge's meet and greet Thursday evening and we could get to finally meet each other in person.  That would be so great.  I'm kind of bothered by the fact that I still have not gotten a letter from my son and missed his first call home last Saturday...what are the odds that he would call again tomorrow?  I know, hoping for too much, as I put this dog on her leash and walk her to the mailbox with another letter for my boy.  I sure hope he is getting them.

Daniel called again today - although not until the afternoon. He said they should get to call each Saturday until about week 4. They are currently at week 2. He mentioned Monday should be training day 2-2 or 2-3. Hopefully that means 2 more Saturday calls!
