For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 219 and 220
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Let the tears begin! One week from today many of you will be able to see those boys you sent away a few short weeks ago. I know from experience, they've matured, they've changed, and they are much more appreciative of the little (important) things in life then they were before. Ladies, they are no longer our babies....you are about to meet a true blue MAN. Today I got two letters from my SR. One was for me where he talked about his activities coming up, and how (at the time) there were only 12 more days....They are all so excited!. The other letter made me drop...it was a letter to my daughter and her (future) husband--who will marry on June 8th, the day after graduation, so he will not be able to attend. It was such a beautiful, loving 'toast' to their new life together. He ended it with saying "I am sorry I can't be there"....that was my clincher. Please keep all of our family in your prayers--especially our SR, as this is such a difficult time for our family to be separated--we are VERY close nit. I know missing his sisters wedding is laying very heavy on his heart (as it is ours), but his service and training is far more important in the big picture. On a cool note-our Marine just called this afternoon, and gets Recruiters assistance (he was in Pensacola then left 2 weeks ago to San Diego) and will be able to come to the wedding! Ladies, after you hug your son, please don't forget my boy (just ask you son to point out the "Iron man" in 219--Initials ML) and hug his neck in our absence please. We are so very proud of him and miss him so incredibly.

I'm going to ask my son (in 219) if he can find the Ironman and I'm going to hug him for you! He may get more hugs than any other Sailor after all of the moms are done! If I find him, I'll have him send you a picture right there in the drill hall.

LADIES--DON'T FORGET--AS WE GET OUR "I AM A SAILOR CALL" FROM OUR SONS, DON'T FORGET TO ASK YOUR SON IF EVERYONE PASSED, THEN POST ON HERE...The wait is going to be tough for some, especially if there sons happen to have duty or something. We are all in this together, and lets help each other's anxiety and get as much info as possible. Remember to be cognizant of privacy issues though.

hello all! i got a letter from my son today and i am DEVASTATED!!! he told me he has not received ANY letters at all during boot camp. i have mailed a TON of letters and cards (as have some of his friends and other family members)! i don't understand. this does explain what he meant during the VERY SHORT phone call when he told me he was sad & when i asked why he said, "why haven't i heard from anyone?" at that time, i thought he meant everyone else OTHER than me, but now i assume that means he hasn't gotten any of my letters? it is breaking my heart to think that he has not gotten any of my long, heart felt, "i'm so proud of you" letters. my heart has heart about this ever since i opened this letter today. i am so so sad for him.....

Krisnc...this is a long shot, but is it possible that the address may be wrong? But there might be a problem there....my son has received some mail, but not all. He didn't get his birthday card, and he mentioned that another guy didn't receive his, either. I'm so sorry...I'd be devastated, too.

Krisnc -- What address were you using??? I have also sent my SR lots of letters to 219 and I know he must have gotten many of them because he told me that his storage space is getting crowded. I never thought to ask him how many letters he has rec'd ... and he has only written me one time so he hasn't answered any questions of mine. I sent his mail to SHIP 13 DIV 219, 3420 Sailor Drive, Great Lakes, 60088. Is that what you used? I feel bad for you and I'm concerned that it may have been a problem for the whole division.

yes janet, that's the one i use. i'm a little better today. both my sister & stepsister confirmed that they sent him letters & cards & that they had also received stuff from him. so, i'm going with Lisaz's suggestion that i misinterpreted the first line of his letter! ;) 5 days & a wake up!

thanks cinderanb, but i made sure EVERY time! i even went back & looked at his form letter that i got first. i has another very smart & calm mother say that maybe i misread it...the first sentence said, "i haven't received mail yet". she said maybe he meant he hadn't received any THAT day (this past sunday, which, sundays are the days they have mail call".... i am going to go with that & think positively.
