Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 007 & 008.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions  and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Rainbow and Stars

Hi, everyone! My son is in Ship 14 Div 007! I received 3 letters over the weekend! His Dad and I were so excited we cried! He sounded so good. Our son said things are going well. He said that Div 007 is getting along well and is working as a team. They are good guys and he is making lots of friends. He didn't give me any names but maybe next time. He is older (28) but that doesn't seem to matter like he thought it would. He too is headed to FL after boot. It is great to hear from others with children that are there with mine! Keep posting so we all know how everyone is doing! My son signed every letter - GO NAVY! It made his Dad so PROUD!

pniswonger-My son also said he has met some really great friends, he did give me the names, but I cannot post them on here. I am looking so forward to seeing him again. He did say his division is working well together and that he missed his mile run by 3 seconds, but he has two more times to try it. He says he lays low, so he hasnt gotten yelled at yet. Keep in touch, what is you son's last three intitials of his last name?

ZacMansMom -
Awesome, my son said the same thing about "laying low" to stay out of trouble. He said the RDC is rough but that they are trying for HOF (Hall of Fame). This would get them one extra day of liberty. They seem motivated to do so! He is a little slower on the run but with his age he has a different qualififying time, he missed it too but is going to keep at it! His last three initials are ger.... I am hoping for another letter this week!

pniswonger-Did you send your son the NavyMom questionaire, I did for Zachary and learned alot from him, just by him answering the questions and it was easier and faster for him. I will check his letters tonight about last names, he named 5 names and I have met one of the mothers on here. It is such a small world. Will you all be attending PIR? We are coming in on the 15th and staying at the Ramada. I am counting down the days. Keep in touch and hopefully more letters will come soon.

I don't know about a NavyMom questionnaire. Where do I get it? Sometimes all this information seems a bit overwhelming!

Hey.. I saw you posted last name initials... I will ask my son Richard about Zac.. but what are Zac's initials... Mac? Rod for mine... I hope they are all getting along well and really working as a team! :)

ProudMomofRichard-Zach's last initials are BAT, but he is in Div007, so would they be together? I don't know, it is all confusing to me. Have you heard alot from your son? How is he doing? How old is your son and where are you from? I cannot wait for PIR, I am nervous and exciting about seeing him again, the sad part is, I have to let him go again after the PIR.

Hey Div007 Mom's let me know if you hear from your SR. I just got a call and when I looked at my phone and saw (847) Waukegan, I got so nervous I couldn't hardly answer it, BUT it wasn't my son it was his bunk mate! His name was Mark and he was so nice. My son had his wisdom teeth pulled today and is in sick quarters and won't be able to call me until Friday! I am worried for him because I know this was the ONE thing he was the most worried about. I just wish I could let him know it will be ok. Mark said he was doing good but that he wanted to let me know things are fine. He was one of the lucky ones who had already had his teeth pulled!

ProudMomofRichard - in answer to your questions my son is 28 and I have received three letters. The first one was written on paper that he had torn out of his address book and he had written while he was waiting to sign up for his pay, the second letter was written after lights out and the last was written before church on Sunday the 7th. He said him and his bunkmates were hanging out talking and he liked that. He didn't give me any names but that all the guys that left with him from MEPS were in his DIV. He left from Memphis. If your son is DIV007 then I think they are together, but he said there are 92 in his DIV.

I am hoping for more letters this week! He said to keep the letters coming!

Let us know if you get calls!

pniswonger - After reading your post/comment, I must say I was in tears... how touching! I love that they are BEING a TEAM!! and supporting each other no matter what.  Richard (18) is in the brother DIV 008, so they might not know each other... I smiled when you mentioned Memphis, we were stationed there for 4 years in Millington, loved it there!  I have only received one letter from Richard and hoping I get another Fri.  But Richard did TRY and make a call this evening but to his girlfriend, and sadly her phone wasn't acting right and the call did come thru :( So I guess we'll wait for next time and keep sticking my head in the mail box and send send send love from home! :)
