Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 007 & 008.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions  and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

No, did you? Any news?

I got that ten second call the night he made it to BC. No other call. I know some of them did call on the 16th and one of his friends was able to call home. He ask his mom to call me and tell me that my son would not call that night because he had his wisdom teeth pulled. I thought he would call in a day or two but not call yet. How about you,, have you got a call? I did get a letter yesterday. It said that the whole Div loves to talk and that they pay the price for it everyday and sometimes more than once a day. He made section leader and said that he gets in trouble when his section don't do good. I believe that means he has to do crazy exercises. He went on to tell me about a few of his bunk mates and that there was two that had been discharged and how sad it made him to see them go. He said his div has not "got it together yet, but working on it" He said that they really do need to make "Team" and that they had learned how to march and passed where other div had failed.... He misses home. I just wish he would call. What about your son, any news? phone calls?

Yes, I did receive a letter yesterday and the questionare I sent him. He said the exact same thing that their division would be better if people learned to keep their mouths shut. He also told me last week when he called that he lost to of his best friends, but one was left and hopes nothing happens to him. What is the first few letters of your SR? He did say they were doing a weapons inspection and another PTF, which would of been yesterday.  Zach did not need his wisdom teeth pulled, which was good. Talking to him last week was great, but of course when I first heard his voice I broke down, it brought my spirits up alot more than before. I have never had this feeling before, with him being gone. No one really understands until you are going through it yourself. I really hope your SR calls you. I am sure there is a reason and it will come soon. I wish them all luck and hopefully the next few weeks will fly by. Did you make reservation anywhere for PIR?

My son is Ship 14 / Div 007, He just called. He said that the Div as a whole was told over and over that they needed to "step it up" They have been working and trying, only to be told they are failing.... last night the had an inspection, not only did they pass but they passed with a almost perfect score, he told me the numbers but I was to excited to remember them, but the best they can get is 5.00. It turns out that the commanding officer is retiring after this div so he has been pushing them. He has pushed them and them not knowing any better kept trying... The commanding officer wants to retire on a good note and it seems that he will Div 007 are on their way to "The Hall of Fame"! James went on to say that they as a div has earned 5 of 5 flags. As far as he knows they are the only di
v in BC right now that has earned every flag! He told me that the whole div did well on the shooting, he just kept saying that they were sucking it up and pushing through. He said that he has all his uniforms now and they would go to graduation in the blues. He then went on to tell me that he has made "Section Leader"! He got a nice pin to wear on his uniform. He sounded excited. He told me they got one of the highest scores in marching. He said that they are loosing guys everyday. He told me how much he missed home. He again said that he really wanted me to be there, of course he told me that he loved me :) The call came up as a number, 847 area code. I started not to answer but I am soooo glad I did! He got to talk for 40 minutes.

I am so glad you finally got a phone call, glad to here he is doing good. It was so awesome talking with my son too. He sounds so mature and is so up beat. It sounds that they are a great group of guys. They are working really hard. Not much longer, I can't wait to hug my son. I am so proud of him. 18 more days!!!!!

I also got a phone call on Sunday it was so exciting to finally hear from him, he could not call me the last time they were allowed to make phone calls because he was recovering from wisdom teeth being pulled.  it seems like alot of them had their wisdom teeth pulled. He also said he was on antibiotics for 2 ear infections and pink eye. apparently alot of them have been getting sick. I felt so bad for him. But he did say he is better now. He also said that he has been carrying the flag and getting reemed out for it I guess he isn't to good at it.  Well maybe our sons are friends. We also talked about 45min. So happy. Maybe i'll see ya graduation

Did anyone in div008 get letters this week?

We had an awesome call from our son this weekend. (ship 14 / 007). He was one of the ones that was not able to call because he had his teeth pulled but it was all worth it to be able to talk for over 45 minutes! He sounded so good! He said things are tough but it is all for a reason and for the good of the Division. Their Chief (Durdle) drives them hard so they can be the best and he likes it that way. Anyway his group of friends is called the "A" team and I am looking for those parents. They are planning on getting together on the 16th. If you are members of this group please message me. Looking for Mark's parents from AL, Brashier (sp) from AL, Hill from NJ, Cook from PA, and someone nicknamed Looney (sorry) from MN..... this will be so much fun for the guys! THANKS!

My sons name is Billy and he is from Clearwater also ship 14/007. Don't know if he is in the A team.
