Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 009 and 010

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is 009. He is a bit demoralized as they are not pulling together. Says they are bottom. I got a letter yesterday. He sounds brainwashed.

I did get a quick letter from my recruit (DIV 010).  He said he didn't have too much to talk about - which is why my letter was mostly about going to the NEX and buying more underwear - "tighty whities" :)   (...and everyone apparently gets the same size so they're uncomfortable to wear - lol).  Now I can understand why other comments on the site mention guys have asked loved ones to bring boxers to wear around the hotel room!  He didn't mention how their division is doing.  Anyone have info on that?  Hope everyone had a good week!

I got one letter. Sounds like Ship 14 Div 009 are having a tough time.

How so? My son is on ship 14, div 009...got a letter Friday but nothing about problems :(
Have a question? My son had said more than 4 can come and since we are a family of 7. He said he could put them on list. Also, since he is the Yeomun (I think how it's spelled) he said he has access to the schedule for graduation. We will have liberty with them from 11-9pm. *that's for the PIR 11/13 He's ship 14 010.
Anyone get any calls today?

No call today - I was hoping for one too!  Maybe tomorrow?

Are we only getting them on the day of graduation or do we get them the whole weekend
Depends on if he is going to A school in Great Lakes.. If he is then yes but if he is going to another state probably just the day of graduation and at the airport the next day.....that's what I've been told

I have not spoken to my sailor since the day he shipped out. Is anyone else in the same boat? He tried to call home on the 10th but was allowed to call on a broken phone. No call yesterday at all. I have received two letters from him. The first was about 3 sentences and did more harm than good then the second one came and made me feel much better but I need to hear his voice, it has been 1 month. What is going on here????

I got to hear from my recruit last night. It was so good to hear his voice. Last time I spoke to him he was not in good spirits. It seems ship 14 div 009 is having a rough of things based on comments I read. He said letters really help them. I also got a letter this week. Seems like he was in better spirits while we spoke and his letter was a little more upbeat. He said talking to me helped. He is very homesick. 25 more days boys!!!!!

My son is same ship/division. Had a phone call last weekend and one letter this week...was hoping maybe he'd call tod but nothing so far:(. Any specifics on the rough times?
