Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 047 and 048

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thanks for the update, that's fantastic news on the div. I'd hoped my sons letter would arrive today but no such luck, I guess it'll be Saturday this week. Will be waiting tomorrow for a phone call and on Facebook watching all the pics RTC posts, hoping for a glimps. I can't believe how it's becoming so hard to sleep & wait for PIR, it can't come soon enough. First Christmas without my boy trying to focus on this time next week!!
Mograds, the yellow form says we can pick up our recruits between 8-9 am. I'm so excited!
Div 047 is in the Christmas photos RDC posted on Facebook this morning!!
My husband's in the second row! They all look happy. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas what a great surprise!! My son is in the 3rd row with s big smile, looks happy.

Good Morning! We had the opportunity to spend yesterday with our son and another SR :) What a great day! The mood of the Division is overall very good and they are looking forward to the Captain's Cup today before Sunday's Battle Stations 21. At dinner the two of them told us about the Division chant that will start off the Captains Cup - they both had big smiles on their face. Expect phone calls from your "Sailor" sometime on Monday. They have been mainly preparing for graduation and their RDCs sound like great guys. They also said that at graduation Division 47 will be the first division to be called - I'm not sure if that also means they will march into the hall first. In case you didn't know already, families have the opportunity to go to the NEX and purchase various Navy gear with your Sailor when you visit for graduation. Have a great week all and safe travels to Great Lakes to see our Sailors graduate!!!

Hi everyone! We had a fun day with our son yesterday. I'm so glad we were able to spend Christmas together! I have some news that my son told me about Division 048. When they were doing the final PFA one recruit got sick during the run. Because of that they stopped it and all those who were still running have to repeat the entire PFA on Monday. The division is being split up to do battlestations on 2 nights, and unfortunately my son was one that has to do the PFA on Monday and will have battlestations delayed. If anyone wants to know division 048 battlestations days just send me a private message. He was kind of upset because he was definitely running well enough to pass. I'm sure he'll do fine on Monday.

I have been trying to add you as a friend and can not get it to work so that I may ask you for dates. Do you think you can message me. My son was one of the ones that was unable to complete his PFA.

Hey -

this is news I also heard from our SR - approx. 18 of them division got thru the physical test and will be doing battlestations with another division - but the general mood seemed really good -

So proud of all the SR - that they have made it so far is awesome.  And I have to say there isn't anything better than that first hug when you see them.  Shed more than a few tears picking up our SR on Christmas morning.  Many blessings to the groups that adopted the sailors for the day!! I know they were all looking forward to it

If your SR is staying in Great Lakes for A school, he will have liberty for the weekend. If your SR is leaving for A school outside of Great lakes, then he will fly out either Saturday or Sunday and have liberty on Thursday and Friday. If your SR is scheduled for watch duty, that will affect the time he will have to leave for or return from liberty.

Does anyone know if we should get a "I am a sailor call today"? I was thinking they did Battle Stations last night and didn't know how soon they would be able to call.

Anyone get a call yet? I'm so anxious!
