Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 077 and 078

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Wonderful!!!! Same here :) I found a photo of my SR and got two phone calls. All seems well and yes, I agree... looks like you all are now part of an extended family of mine now... and I've always wanted a big family!!! We are playing to fly up the Thursday before and fly back on Sunday. If any of y'all (yes, I'm from Texas and say "y'all" a lot -- too much!) are good with the camera, would one of y'all be able to take a family photo of our family at PIR? I'll do the same for whoever volunteers. Buddy system :) BTW: is there a dress code for attendees at PIR? If so, can you guide me through?

Also, I'm a bit concerned. My SR told me that he is having some plantar fasciitis issues with the boots during marching. As an avid marathoner and triathlete myself. I've learned how to KT Tape my legs and feet to alleviate the pain and allow myself to heal quickly this way. Is it a no no to send him some KT Tape with instructions on how to apply? Will that get him in trouble?

Are you 77 or 78?

He's in 78

Wow! Another call tonight! Div 78

My SR is in 78 as well, I got another phone call! I never thought I would get another one so soon.

Missmyssie- yes I will take your pic. "Ya'll can take ours too." (We are from Texas.

Yay!!! Thank you!!! :) We'll be going up on Thursday and if weather is kind and there are no flight delays, will be there for Sarge's dinner.

Hello,

My SR is in DIV 077, he will be going to San Antonio for HM training.  I read several discussion boards and remain confused...have any of you received any info on when our SR's will leave GL for their A school?  We want to purchase our flights, but I understand some SR's may leave on Friday evening or early Saturday morning. I am sure we will purchase and stay till Sunday evening just hope we will get to spend some time with him.

It's getting close to PIR and I still haven't received any letters from my SR. This has made me so so nervous. I have received calls so I know he is okay. It's driving me crazy not to know what's going on with him at BC.
Some SR don't write as much as others. When my brother was in boot camp last year he only wrote two letters total. My boyfriend is at boot camp now in division 078 and I have gotten at least 6 letters so far! So every sailor is different! Hope you get a letter today!

I feel a bit odd. That motherly part of me is restless. Because I've never been part of a military family before, is there maybe a place/organization that I can help with locally with the Navy that y'all can recommend? i.e. collect donations and box care packages or help with birthday card campaigns, etc? I feel antsy and have an overwhelming need to do something... suggestions?

Good morning ladies! We can mark off another Friday! :D Have any of you heard if your sailor is going through hell week yet? I am trying to figure out if hell week was this week or the next week? I didn't get mail yesterday, but praying for a letter today!
