Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 085 and 086

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Received a phone call from my Son on Saturday, I'm so happy he seems to be in much better spirits. He does have a cough and he called it the recruit cough and says it is going around that they are all getting it. He told me that he was assigned a job as Yeoman, he didn't have to volunteer for it and that it gives him a momentary break from the stress. But the position is one of a great deal of responsibility and can be stressful as well. However he is very happy to have been given such a great opportunity. He asks that we pray and keep the letters from our family coming as they need a great deal of support to get them through this.

Hi, my son is in 085. Looking forward to Feb 6. Does anyone how much time we will have with them. Haven't booked any flights yet.

I believe it depends on if they are flying out for A school or staying at the GL for A school.

If your Sailor flies out to "A" School or training, s/he will have Liberty from about 10:30 am when Liberty is called following PIR until sometime in the evening (usually around 8 to 9 pm, but it could be earlier--s/he will know the time) and s/he will need to be back at the RTC about a half hour before Liberty expires to be certain to get back to the ship on time. If your Sailor has watch at some point during the day, you will need to return him/her to the RTC in time to be back to the ship for it and then pick him/her up afterwards if there is still time remaining before Liberty expires.

Has anyone in divison 085 received their SR's box with personal items yet. I haven't received my son's box yet and I am a little concerned.

Yes, I received my SR's box within a few days. The form letter came about a week later
I rcvd box Fri after.he left.and form letter Monday after he left

Hello mydojo

My son arrived on  Tuesday 12-09-14 and I received the box on the following Monday and received the form letter on that weds 12-17-15. I received 3 letters total but only one phone call on last Saturday Jan 3 2015. Because the calling cards they were given were not working so I had to send him a calling card in order to receive any calls from him.

What method did your box come. Was it U.S. mail or UPS, I want to be able to track his box. I am very heartbroken because I know it may be a little silly to some, but it was the last thing he was wearing before he left, and I would like to have his items in my possession. Most importantly his phone.

My box came Fed ex and it required a signature so I was actually delayed in receiving it as i had to leave the signed ticket for the Fed Ex guy who came back the next day so i am sure your box can be found.  My son arrived at boot camp on 12/8 and I echo the others, I got the box back very quickly.

I am happy to report, through a lot of follow-up, I tracked my son's box and picked it up a few minutes ago.

Good Morning Everyone !

I'm so excited received information from my son he sounds in great spirits and he also informed me of the BSTA ( Battle Stations) Begins he is on Ship 14 div 086 and I believe brother Div 085 will be doing these together. So if you would like this info please friend request me and I will send you a private message with the information.  Have a Blessed Day !
