Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 179 and 180

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hello my daughter is alson Ship 14 Div 179. I have not recieved a letter yet, but did receive a phone call last saturday. She sounds Great !

Just got off the phone with my SR said he's making friends 1 of his friends is SR RAK. Said it's getting easier but he sick with a cold and won't go to Dr. Tried to tell him he need to go tomorrow so he can get through the next few weeks. Have a blessed Easter everyone.

Kitten says Hello

Hello,

My niece is Ship 14 Div 179 and her first letter home arrived Friday. We were excited to receive it and see how her first 13 days went. Understand that recruits are only allowed to write on Sundays but can receive mail any day.

Keep in touch with your recruits for many, it's their first time so far from home.

Have a happy Easter

My son called me on Saturday, I was in the middle of a family reunion and went outside to take his call. We spoke for exactly 37 minutes. He has a cold and I just had to cheer him up. He's missing our food, his bed, his dog and sleeping in. He knew what he was getting himself into and knows this is just temporary. He says he did well on written tests and the physical tests too. I am proud. When I arrived home from reunion there were two letter sitting in the mailbox from him. It was a great weekend!

I received a phone call Saturday also from my D. She had her wisdom teeth pulled and was sick in quarters for two days. She sounded much better this phone call. She said alot our sick with colds. She also did well on her testing. She misses her dog so much and friends and family. It was so great to hear her voice again! It was a BEAUTIFUL EASTER WEEKEND. Hope all you other Moms are hanging in there. Blessings from one Mom to another !!

Received two more letters on Monday. My SR wants me to write, write, write, he really want some type of communication from the outside. I know he's a bit home sick too. I mailed out a couple more bandages for his blisters on Monday and a new phone card that I already activated for him. The PIR is so near and I can remember the first week he left--I felt so empty and filled with tears. Now I'm proud of him and have stayed strong since. I really thought I couldn't feel any better, but like others state, this site really keeps us informed as to the day to day updates. I felt so in the dark before, and now I feel so much more informed.

I have received two phone calls but no letters except the form letter.  I hope that I get one soon.  I am happy for those of you who did!

I am debating on which Hotel to book. I have read the reviews etc..someone mentioned a Navy Lodge? I am still trying to navigate this site , sorry if  this info has been relayed already. Do the recruits get to stay overnight with us if we book there? (Thought I read that somewhere. ) Pretty sure my daughter leaves for Pensacola Sat or Sunday after Graduation. I  want to spend as much time with her as POSSIBLE. Any reccomendations? I have received 3 phone calls and one letter . Each phone call finds her sounding better and better :-) Hope all you Moms are doing okay.

Hi Ohio Mom, it depends what price you want to pay for a hotel and that it meets your needs. I got a room at the Courtyard Marriott because my 13 year old and husband like to swim (it has an indoor pool). I also got it with extra bed just in case my SR wants to sleep. I really don't know how much time I will have with him or what he wants to do with that time. I'm leaving it all up to him. If he wants to come to our hotel and nap, then I'll bring in food for him. He did say he was missing fast food--lol. We are also close to Six Flags which my younger son already informed me of.

Thanks West Coast Mom.

Received 2nd letter last Friday and it seems that my niece is hanging in there. Does anyone know whether leave is granted for anytime between RIP & A school? Does it vary based on her job? I think she will be heading to San Antonio, Texas. I understand that there are 33 females and 42 males in her division and the weather has been on the cool side. Can't wait for the next letter.
