Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 197 and 198

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My daughter is in DIV 197 anyone else's SR in the same? I'm looking for any news of what they are doing since we missed her first call home. :(

My daughter is in 197.......I got a call last week but nothing since.  She said the food was really good ands that she is doing fine.  She is quiet and not much of a talker, so at least I know she is okay.

My daughter is in DIV 198 and I spoke to her very briefly. She said it was terrible but she was okay and it was getting better. I don't have details unfortunately. I think she called her bf for a longer call but I still didn't get many details out of him!

Okay soo it seems like DIV 197&198 got calls home.

I got a call from 198 yesterday. She says she is doing great and Says PT is easy for her. It was good to hear her voice.
My son is in division 198 but no call or no letter from him. I guess some people got calls and some didn't. I am really worried about him and not hearing from him is driving me crazy!

Right there with you dentalchick!  It's a little discouraging not hearing from my daughter when it seems like others are able to make calls.  She never did like making phone calls, but I would hope she would make one to her mom!

My son is in ship14 Div 198 also and I haven't received a call or letter either. I'm going nuts also!!!

My daughter is in Division 197.  She called home Saturday morning.  She stunned her father and I on how well she sounded!!!  She said she is doing well.  The group of girls is a bit unorganized (show me more than 3 girls at a time who aren't unorganized) but said they had a meeting among themselves and said that they needed to put their differences aside and work together as they had inspections coming up.  They will learn what team work is this way for sure.  Our daughter was raised as an only child though she does have an older step sister....so she's never had to share, etc. but this is the way lessons are learned and remembered!!  There was no sorrow or resentment in her voice.  She sounded positive and up beat.  She did say how great it was that they were finally getting mail...so keep the cards and letters coming.  We've already made our reservations and vacation plans for Chicago in June.  She will fly out the following day for South Carolina so we're gonna enjoy Chi-town while we are there....hopefully it warms up as we are from Florida and 30 & 40 is a bit chilly for us!  It's already hit 90 here!!!  Looking forward to reading all about your SR!!

Julie, what did she say was going on in 198? I guess since I haven't heard anything from my son I was assuming it was going o.k.
Has anyone received letters other than the form letter? I run to check the mail everyday and come back empty handed I was hoping for a letter by now?
This is amazing. Hearing all these stories helps to heal the pain of not knowing what is going on with your child. I just found out how to do all of this and I have learnt a lot. I did receive a call from my son over the weekend and he was doing good. However, when he heard my voice he did tear up. I have been both mom and dad to him all of his life. I reassured him that everything would be okay and how proud of him I am. My son said that everything was going good and that he is okay. I am so very thankful for navy for moms, because it has taken a great burden off of my shoulders. Hang in there everyone. It will be over soon. Praying for all.
