For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 197 and 198
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

My son is in Div 198 and I received a call Saturday morning. My son is doing well but he was emotional in the beginning of the phone call. He said the training is going good and he passed the first test. They are doing a lot of studying right now, not too much physical training yet. They are starting to weed out all of the SRs who aren't following the rules/behavior issues. My son hasn't received any of the letters we sent and he sounded bummed. The SRs definitely need it encouragement. I've been sending letters everyday, hope he received at least one today.

That is odd, I mailed my daughter a letter last Wednesday & from the letter she sent me today, she got it on Friday. Hope you both get a letter soon!! Good luck!

Does anyone know how much liberty time the SRs who are attending training in Florida will have after PIR?

I was told they get atleast 2 hours. Then they return to get prepared for their flight too A school in the early morning.

Kris23, You will have until sometime between 7-9pm with your Sailor after PIR. They generally have to be back no later than 8pm, but we have seen as late as 10pm.

My daughter is in Div 198 also, but no phone calls yet nor letters. I'm hope she's just having such a good time she's not worried about calling home.

I've already started receiving letters from my SR. I was surprised how quickly they got here ! He's in Div 198.

I received my first letter today from my daughter, she is also in Div. 198, ship 14. She sounded really well, said the food was really good & she was surprised, her feet hurt but no blisters, she is tired but doing really well & loves being there! :) She said they barely have time to think, they keep them VERY busy, she loved the letter I sent & said to keep em coming! I put pictures in my letter and printed it out, like a little mini-diary of what's going on w/ the family at home. I didn't get a call as she called her fiance. SHe said her rack-mate is awesome! Was SO good to hear from her, yesterday was just misery, missing her SO badly.

Does anyone know what ASMO means??? My daughter wrote it twice in a letter and I have idea no flippin' idea what it means

ASMO=Assignment Memorandum
If a SR is asmo'd they are put in to a different TG with a later PIR.
