While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My daughter is in this divison. I haven't heard from her yet, other than that call on the 10th and a note on the back of her PIR information. I have also heard they are very busy, but I hope she can at least write to us. This is so hard not hearing from her. I have already made all our arrangements to go to PIR, so now I just wait. As everyone tells me though, No news is good news... still so hard.

Hi Moms. I'm active on the NavyDads site but as a single father I learned a LONG time ago I needed to comminicate with the moms to keep up. Haven't recieved a personal letter yet. Missed a phone call on 12/18. Anyway, in the initial letter sent home with ship and division info my son wrote that he was selected to 912 because of his ASVAB score. FYI.

Good Morning everyone, I just wanted to stop by your group and say hi. My daughter was in the performing division when she was at bootcamp. This group is known as the Triple Threat. They are chosen for this group often based on high ASVAB scores and many of them have previous experience with marching like from being in the band. Once they are chosen for this division they can try out for the band, choir, drill team or flag corp. There are also a lot of non-performers in this division as well who work behind the scenes. They will normally get to perform for one or two PIR ceremonies before their own and do sometimes get to perform off base for special events or parades but that doesn't happen often. If you have a performer you can ask other PIR groups to take pics at their PIR and come back and post them so you can see your recruit. I did this and the other moms were happy to do this for me. I was able to see pics of my daughter performing with the choir 2 weeks before PIR. I cannot even explain how amazing it was to see a pic of her. Even though they have more on their plate with the practicing and all that I still got letters every week from my recruit and I had more phone calls that I expected. They often got rewarded with phone calls for working hard and performing well. I hope this holds true for all of you as well. let me know if you have any questions at all.

I got 2 letters today! I feel like I could fly!!!! He's so proud of himself because during a mock inspection, he did better than the recruits with leadership positions. And he absolutely hates the glasses he was issued, he can't wait to have his contacts back hahhaha.

Got my letter yesterday. Written Christmas Eve. They gave them some leeway to write after they were to tap that night. He was up for 40 straight hours upon arrival but was up and at 'em when they let them sleep for what he thinks was eight hours. Says the DIV was frazzled but "no cryers." Loves the PT,especially IT. Healthy food at all meals. Feels great. Loving the life. Raring to go. Papa is relieved and excited. Also mentioned that they were scheduled to make calls Christmas Eve but lost their spot to a senior division.

Got our first letters today 12/30 finally. It is such a relief to hear from my daughter. All is well and she is working hard as well as everyone in her group. I'm so glad for the rest of you who have heard from your kids. I'm sure the letters will start coming soon for those parents who haven't heard anything yet.

I'm so glad you all have received letters from your kids. I haven't received any letters other than the note on the back of the form letter. I keep checking the mailbox ALOT, but nothing yet. I'm driving my other two daughters crazy checking the mailbox constantly...lol. Hopefully, I'll receive something soon. Thanks for posting notes stating that they are all working hard and doing fine. It sure helps knowing that they are all doing well. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hopefully we'll get calls this time or sometime soon.
