Hello!  it was suggested that i start a discussion for this DIV to see if any other Moms out there with their daughters with mine!  She left on 5/21 from Ohio and we have received her box of things and nothing else, but I am told that no news is good news!  Hope to hear from others soon!

It seems last night I was a little distraught over an address. I'm thankful to have the correct information now so that I can write to my daughter.

Thanks everyone for bearing with me. :-)

it sounds as though we have daughters on the same ship and division, what is she planning to do after BC?  If you are coming to PIR I was told to make reservations now, we have a room at the Navy Lodge and it is supposed to be close.

FYI...here is a facebook link to this division

Thank you!

Good Morning All!  I see that some have started to receive letters, nothing here yet, but at least I can now send letters to her!  we booked our stay at the Navy Lodge, does anyone know if they have shuttle service to the base from there?  I was also curious if going to Chicago is from the base is an easy trip, my husband is not too keen on going into the city, says it will be too much traffic and such (we are from a small town)  he is not real adventuresome:)  unless you are talking a woods and hunting!  She wanted to see Chicago and eat some deep dish pizza! unless someone knows of a good place closer to the RTC?

Good morning! No letters here yet either. Navy lodge doesn't say anything about a shuttle but it does say there is a taxi service that can access the base. Also, I believe there are buses and trains that go to downtown Chicago if you don't want to have to drive in traffic. I moved from a big city to a small town and now when I go home to visit I really dislike the traffic so I know how you guys feel..lol

Ok thanks, I did see that about a taxi service, I bet that would be the best bet to go into PIR the morning that way, I read where traffic getting in can be pretty bad...Do you have reservations already?

Not yet! Im going to PIR with my in-laws and they are going to make reservations for everyone. They should be doing that today. I told them not to wait too long because everything would be filling up fast!

thats what i was told also, my daughters boyfriend made ours he is going to school at the Navy Academy-- I dont know if you need to be in the military to stay at the Navy Lodge or not, but it was real reasonable.

Hi. My son is in this DIV. He left on 5/16 from San Antonio Tx. We received this box on 5/22 and the letter with the PIR info 5/28. Haven't received a letter from him yet. Hopefully soon.

You should be getting a real letter hopefully this week. They were able to send mail out yesterday! I talked to my SR yesterday for a minute and thats how I know! So stalk the mailman because letters are on there way!

Yay!! Can' wait. Thanks for the info.
